Clínica Zuatzu and Grupo VIVO Diagnóstico, owned by Nexxus Iberia, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing diagnostic imaging services in Gipuzkoa and establishing themselves as a leading reference in this field in the years ahead.
The agreement includes the installation of a new state-of-the-art MRI scanner in Donostia-San Sebastián and marks the beginning of an ambitious development plan designed to progressively expand the diagnostic capabilities of Clínica Zuatzu’s healthcare network.
The partnership has been conceived with a long-term vision and foresees the gradual rollout of this model across additional centers within the organization. The goal is for Gipuzkoa to have three operational MRI units integrated into Clínica Zuatzu’s network by 2028.
This expansion will bring advanced diagnostic technology closer to patients throughout the territory, improving access to highly specialized examinations, reducing travel requirements and strengthening the healthcare capacity of Gipuzkoa’s private healthcare sector.
Magnetic resonance imaging is a key diagnostic tool across a wide range of medical specialties, including Traumatology, Sports Medicine, Neurology, Gynecology, Urology, Gastroenterology and General Surgery, helping to deliver more accurate diagnoses and accelerate clinical decision-making.
The addition of this new technological infrastructure further reinforces Clínica Zuatzu’s healthcare model, which is based on the integration of medical consultations, advanced diagnostics and surgical services within a single healthcare ecosystem.
Óscar Paúl, CEO of Clínica Zuatzu, highlights that: “This alliance represents much more than the addition of a new MRI scanner. It is a commitment to the future of private healthcare in Gipuzkoa, to innovation, and to bringing the best diagnostic technology closer to our patients. Our goal is to build a healthcare network that is more accessible, more efficient and better prepared to meet future needs.” He adds: “We are doing so while preserving something that is essential to us: our roots in the region. Clínica Zuatzu is a Basque-owned healthcare organization, founded and developed in Gipuzkoa, and we continue to believe that decisions affecting our patients should be made close to them. We want to grow, incorporate new technologies and attract talent, without losing our identity or our commitment to the people and the territory we serve.”
As part of the alliance, Grupo VIVO Diagnóstico will contribute its expertise as one of Spain’s leading independent diagnostic imaging operators, as well as the technological and organizational capabilities required to accelerate the development of new diagnostic services and solutions. The partnership combines Clínica Zuatzu’s local knowledge and patient-centered approach with Grupo VIVO’s technological and medical specialization, creating a long-term healthcare collaboration model.
Rainiero Holgado, CEO of Grupo VIVO, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership for the company’s continued growth and excellence: “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to quality of care and innovation in diagnostic imaging, enabling us to create greater value for patients, healthcare professionals and partners. We are convinced that this alliance, which forms part of our organic growth strategy, will make a decisive contribution to strengthening our position in the Basque Country and accelerating our business development in line with our expansion plans. We could not think of a better partner in Gipuzkoa than an organization with the reputation of Clínica Zuatzu.”
