CoCircular, an impact-driven startup specialising in circular waste management, digitalisation and traceability, has closed a €1.9 million funding round led by Seven Seas Capital, with participation from Angels Capital, Zubi Labs, Hortensia Roig, Savana Global and other investors. The funding will enable the company to embark on a new phase of growth, accelerate the development of its technology and expand into new strategic sectors.

The investment represents a further endorsement of CoCircular's business model. Founded in 2019 as an initiative of Zubi Labs, which remains one of its principal shareholders, the company is now welcoming Angels Capital as a new investor to support its expansion strategy, reinforcing a shared commitment to transforming waste management through digitalisation, traceability and circular economy solutions.

CoCircular's platform enables companies to digitise and optimise waste management processes, improving material traceability, regulatory compliance and resource recovery. To date, the company has helped manage more than 6.3 million tonnes of waste, establishing itself as a leading technology provider for the circular economy.

Having consolidated its leadership in the construction sector, where it works with some of Spain's leading developers, construction companies, major corporate groups and several IBEX 35-listed companies, CoCircular now plans to progressively expand its business model into new industries, with a particular focus on the industrial and retail sectors. Its experience operating in highly regulated, operationally demanding and environmentally sensitive environments further validates the scalability of its solution.

The proceeds of the funding round will also be used to strengthen the company's organisational structure and expand its internal capabilities, while accelerating the evolution of 360º Advisor, its SaaS platform for digital and fully traceable waste management. The platform will evolve towards an agentic artificial intelligence model designed to automate processes, enhance analytical capabilities and improve decision-making across the entire waste value chain.

As part of its four-year strategic plan, CoCircular aims to double its workforce and increase revenue eightfold, leveraging the scalability of its technology and the growing demand for solutions that help companies adopt more efficient and sustainable waste management models.

Paula Sánchez Collado, CEO and co-founder of CoCircular, said the funding marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company. Having initially focused on helping the construction sector improve waste management and transition towards more circular practices, the company now intends to bring that expertise to other industries where traceability, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance are becoming increasingly important. According to Sánchez, the company's ambition is "to ensure that waste is no longer viewed as an operational problem, but rather as an opportunity to reduce costs and improve environmental performance."

For Seven Seas Capital, which led the investment round, the transaction reflects CoCircular's ability to combine growth, technological innovation and measurable environmental impact. Michael Albin, Founder of Seven Seas Capital, highlighted that the company addresses one of the key challenges of the ecological transition by transforming waste management into a traceable, efficient and measurable process. He also noted that CoCircular has demonstrated its ability to operate successfully in the highly complex construction sector while developing a business model with significant potential to scale across additional industries.

The company's environmental impact is also reflected in its performance indicators. Since its inception, CoCircular has managed more than 6.3 million tonnes of waste and achieved a waste recovery rate of 91.45% across the materials managed for its clients. Its model has helped avoid more than 94,010 tonnes of CO₂ emissions while reducing emissions by 19.9% compared with the Spanish average. In addition, its data indicate a potential 45.6% improvement in on-site waste segregation, a key factor in increasing material recovery rates and reducing landfill disposal.

Founded in 2019 as an initiative of Zubi Labs, CoCircular has established itself as a specialist in circular waste management, digitalisation and traceability. Through its 360º Advisor platform, the company centralises waste management information, improves traceability and supports decision-making throughout the waste value chain, combining technology, technical expertise and specialist advisory services to help businesses reduce landfill disposal, increase material recovery and accelerate the transition towards more circular operating models.

Since its launch, the company has received more than twenty awards and recognitions. These include the 2025 Lanzadera Women Entrepreneur Award, presented to Paula Sánchez; the 2024 BASF Circular Economy Award in the Start-up category; inclusion in the Top 101 Startups of the Entrepreneurship with Impact Awards organised by Foro ADR and Enisa (2024); recognition as one of the Top 50 Contech Startups and a featured PropTech company at Simed Innova; as well as the 2021 Onda Cero Award in the New Technologies category.
