Alantra, the independent global mid-market financial services firm, has reinforced its investment banking capabilities in Spain with the hire of Ernesto Plevisani as Managing Director based in Madrid, who will focus on Financial Sponsors coverage.

Ernesto has over 16 years’ experience in investment banking, including M&A and capital raisings. Before joining Alantra, Ernesto spent 12 years at Nomura’s Iberian Investment Banking division and at Lehman Brothers in London. Most recently, he worked at FTI Capital Advisors.

Alantra’s Investment Banking team in Spain, which offers a full range of services, including equity and debt capital markets, M&A advisory, debt advisory, restructuring, Credit Portfolio Advisory, and SFABS, is led by Javier García-Palencia, who previously headed the firm’s Debt Advisory practice. In the past months, the team has advised on transactions such as the recapitalisation and debt restructuring of Siro, Audax’s agreement with Shell, the integration of ALG Naturgreen into The Natural Fruit Company, and the sale of Haya Real Estate’s securitization business to Beka Finance.
