CDTI Innovation
The CDTI-E.P.E. is a Business Public Entity under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, whose objective is to promote technological innovation in the business field. The mission of the CDTI is to ensure that the Spanish business community generates and transforms scientific and technical knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable and inclusive growth. In 2025 the CDTI provided more than 2 billion euros in support to Spanish companies and startups, through grants, direct expenditure, investment in risk capital and non-refundable loans in proceedings for R & D business technology projects.
INNVIERTE SICC
INNVIERTE Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A. is an initiative created by the CDTI. Its aim is to promote business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. This entity, established as part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation, is a closed-end, self-managed collective investment company supervised by The National Securities Market Commission.
INNVIERTE deploys its investment activity in two action lines:
1. Direct investment in companies through various initiatives.
2. Indirect investment through investment funds, via public calls.

Professionalism, public-service and proximity, are some of the main features of our working team that constitutes the CDTI; more than 350 professionals who are committed to the mission, vision and values of the centre, with a high degree of qualification and professional specialization. 100 per cent are public employees, labour in the service of the General state administration, and 88 per cent are under recruitment.
The CDTI works mostly at two campuses of Madrid, while the centre has an international network of offices forstrengthen the competitiveness and the positioning of spanish companies with own technologies in the international arena.

The CDTI-E.P.E. promotes innovation and technological development of Spanish companies. This is the entity that engages applications assistance and support to R & D & I projects of Spanish companies at both state and international levels. Therefore, the aim of CDTI is to contribute to the improvement of the technological level of Spanish companies through the development of the following activities:
• Technical and economic evaluation and awarding of public aid to innovation through subsidies or aid partly refundable R & D projects developed by companies.
• Management and promotion of the Spanish participation in international programmes for technology cooperation.
• Promotion of the international transfer of technology and business support services to technological innovation.
• Support for the establishment and consolidation of technology-based enterprises.
The CDTI is governed by private law in its relations with third parties. This allows you to offer companies dynamism and flexibility in its development support services of business projects of r & D at international exploitation of technologies developed by the company and to the realization of offers for supplies tecnológico-industriales to scientific and technological organizations.
Accordingly, the CDTI provided to the enterprise financial own and facilitates access to the third (grants from the framework programme for r & D of the eu, for example) for the conduct of research and development projects at the national and international levels.
It also provides support to the company to develop international cooperation, which provides aid for innovation and technology transfer, your network and multilateral cooperation projects (Eureka and Iberoeka) and bilateral agreements with canada, japan, China, south korea, India and south africa.
The CDTI has also been established as the appropriate body to issue binding reasoned reports on the projects to which it has granted aid under any of its allocations (Royal Decree 2/2007). These documents will provide the Spanish companies which have an approved project and public aid granted by the CDTI with greater legal certainty when it comes to obtaining tax deductions for the expenses incurred in the R&D activities of such projects.
Finally, the CDTI manages and supports Spanish companies in obtaining high-tech industrial contracts generated by different national and European organisations, such as the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN), the European Synchrotron (ESRF) and the European Southern Observatory (ESO), among others.
As the CDTI Entidad Pública Empresarial (SOES), is governed by law 40/2015 of 1 october, from The Legal Regime of the public Sector, law 14/2011, of 1 june, of science, technology and innovation and royal decree 1406/1986, of 6 june, which was adopted.
