Since January 2026, Innvierte has approved 24 new co-investments, including four strategic investments, across the Biotechnology, Healthcare and Agri-food (11), ICT (4), Industry (5), and Energy & Environment (4) sectors, as well as commitments to participate in 14 investment vehicles.

CDTI Innovación, the innovation agency of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, as the promoter of the Innvierte initiative and the company's sole shareholder, approved co-investments in 24 companies during the first six months of 2026. Innvierte has committed a total of €104.1 million, of which €81.4 million has been allocated to four strategic co-investments.

Of the approved co-investments, one is an initial investment in a new company, while the remaining 23 are follow-on investments in existing portfolio companies.

By sector, the approved co-investments are distributed as follows:

With regard to the stage of development or maturity of the companies in which co-investments have been approved, based on the definitions agreed by the leading European private equity and venture capital associations, they are distributed as shown in the table below:

The non-strategic co-investments will be made alongside 44 investors that have been previously accredited by Innvierte, which will contribute €28.8 million.

In addition to these co-investment commitments, Innvierte has also committed to participating in 14 investment vehicles, with a total commitment of up to €944.4 million. This brings the overall commitment made so far this year to €1.0485 billion in direct and indirect co-investments.

During the first half of 2026, Innvierte also approved the accreditation of four new professional private investors, bringing the total number of investors accredited by Innvierte to 200. Of these, 157 are active investors currently submitting co-investment proposals to Innvierte.

Innvierte

Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based and innovative companies. The programme is implemented through Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., a self-managed closed-ended investment company supervised by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), of which CDTI Innovación is the sole shareholder.

To date, CDTI Innovación has committed €3.8302 billion through Innvierte to 67 investment vehicles and, through its co-investment programme, has directly committed €938.3 million to 197 companies.

Innvierte forms part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. The Strategy sets out the objectives, reforms and measures to be implemented across the entire R&D&I ecosystem to foster growth and maximise impact, and constitutes one of the pillars underpinning the Government's R&D&I policy for the coming years.

The Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI E.P.E.) is the innovation agency of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Its mission is to promote technological innovation within the business sector and to help Spanish companies transform scientific and technological knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable and inclusive growth.
