Wolaria, the public accelerator of Castilla y León managed by the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICECYL), has launched a new call for applications to select 10 disruptive projects with high growth potential that are looking to develop within the region. Interested entrepreneurs have until June 30 to submit their applications for this new edition, which places particular emphasis on innovation, business model viability, and growth potential.

The programme offers a six-month Acceleration Campus, certified under the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard, ensuring excellence in its training and specialised mentoring processes. Participants receive free support in key areas such as strategy, business planning, marketing, finance, and legal matters, helping them compete successfully in global markets. In addition, once the intensive phase is completed, companies benefit from personalised support for up to five years to help consolidate their growth.

Wolaria Ecosystem: Impact and Success

Since its first edition in June 2012, Wolaria has become a key driver of entrepreneurship in Castilla y León. To date, it has accelerated 312 projects across 27 completed editions and contributed to the creation of 254 new companies, generating more than 1,300 jobs. These businesses have achieved a strong three-year survival rate of 79%. The programme has also helped attract €68.12 million in financing and €55.20 million in investment.

Selected startups become part of an ecosystem that provides access to training workshops, investment forums, and networking opportunities, facilitating access to both public and private funding. The programme also offers open innovation resources through specialised vertical accelerators focused on strategic sectors such as aerospace (ESA BIC), bioeconomy, green energy, biosciences and healthcare, agrotech, and video games.

To support these initiatives, ICECYL collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders from the regional innovation ecosystem, including universities, technology centres, and leading regional corporations.
