SEGOFINANCE, the leading alternative investment company in Spain, is present for the second year at the San Sebastián International Film Festival through its SEGO Creative vertical.

Just one year after its creation, the line launched by SEGOFINANCE to foster creativity and cultural innovation—while also bringing the entertainment industry closer to retail investors—has established itself as a key player in financing the audiovisual ecosystem. Once again, it democratizes investment in products that were previously accessible only to a few. Thanks to SEGO Creative, any individual can support the cultural project of their choice while also obtaining very attractive returns.

Since its launch, the platform has channeled nearly €3 million into the cultural sector, extending its support beyond cinema to include series, video games, documentaries, distribution, and theater. Thus, it consolidates itself as an avenue that producers, distributors, and creators must consider when seeking private funding to drive quality cultural projects.

SEGO Creative has financed fourteen audiovisual projects—many of them in just a matter of hours—demonstrating the strong interest of retail investors in promoting culture.

Representing SEGOFINANCE at the San Sebastián Festival are Javier Villaseca, Group CEO; Javier Melero, Director of SEGO Venture; Sergio Valcárcel, Group COO; and Eduardo Sánchez, Group Chairman. “The San Sebastián Festival is an international benchmark in the audiovisual industry, and our presence here reinforces SEGO Creative’s role as a new essential player in cultural financing. We want private investment to become a natural complement to subsidies and traditional funding sources in the cultural world,” explains Javier Villaseca, CEO of SEGOFINANCE.

SEGO Creative, the private financing alternative for audiovisual producers and creators

SEGO Creative offers companies in the sector the possibility of obtaining private financing for any cultural project, through loans of up to €5 million, to complement other existing sources of funding.

In addition to breaking down entry barriers for retail investors into a sector historically reserved for large financial players or institutional funds, SEGO Creative provides creators with tailored solutions, supporting them in structuring viable proposals—ensuring the professionalization of the model and its real impact on the audiovisual industry.

Among the projects already financed through the platform are La Deuda by Daniel Guzmán, which will premiere soon; El enigma Inés by Joan Estrada; Cuántica Rave by Paco Campano; and the most recent project financed, Paco Rabal, más allá de la pantalla (Paco Rabal, Beyond the Screen), a documentary dedicated to the great actor Paco Rabal.

International projects have also found financing through the platform, and the first animation project has been successfully completed.
