NK5, the Spanish firm specializing in investment and financial advisory services in restructurings and special situations, has strengthened its management structure to support its growth and continue fostering internal talent development, with the promotion of Álvaro Cid-Luna Clares to Managing Director and the appointment of José María Montiel González de Aguilar as Director.
NK5 has promoted Álvaro Cid-Luna Clares to Managing Director in recognition of his contribution to the firm’s development since joining in 2020. Over the past five years, Álvaro has led numerous restructuring projects, special situations, and insolvency-related transactions. In his new role, he will be responsible, among other duties, for restructuring plans and the services related to their legal approval, including roles such as independent expert.
Meanwhile, José María Montiel González de Aguilar joins NK5 as Director, strengthening the team with his extensive experience in debt operations and real estate transactions. He comes from EY, where he spent the last decade of his professional career as Senior Manager, participating in M&A processes, financial restructurings, and strategic asset analysis. Previously, he worked at AXA Investment Managers.
According to Juan José Nieto, Chairman and Founding Partner of NK5, “The promotion of Álvaro Cid-Luna and the appointment of José María Montiel reflect the firm’s strong commitment to the internal development of our professionals and to attracting profiles with a solid track record and proven experience. Both moves are part of our growth strategy at a particularly relevant time for the restructuring market in Spain.”
With these appointments, NK5 continues to consolidate its positioning and strengthen its team, following recent additions such as Alberto Segurado, former Chief of Staff of the CNMV, who joined as Senior Advisor, in line with its strategy to expand its investment and advisory services in complex transactions and regulated environments.
