Wecamp, Spain’s leading open-air hospitality platform, is embarking on a new chapter after completing an over 5-year build-up phase across iconic touristic destinations in Spain and Portugal. With the summer season concluded and the platform fully capitalised for the next stage, wecamp now enters a consolidation and optimisation phase focused on guest experience, operational excellence and disciplined growth pathways, including selective third-party property leasing or management.

Since its creation in early 2020, wecamp has transformed traditional campsites into modern, design-led eco-resorts, anchored by a strong sustainability strategy and an institutional operating model. Today, the company encompasses 16 sites with more than c.3,000 units across Iberia, located in prime leisure destinations such as Costa Brava, Cabo de Gata, San Sebastián, Cudillero, the Pyrenees, Cádiz or Jávea. The platform has also expanded into Portugal with Reserva Alecrim (Alentejo) and São Miguel (Odeceixe). This network is the result of a deliberate aggregation strategy executed by Meridia alongside the operating team.

Wecamp has established itself as the reference platform in Iberian outdoor hospitality, combining scale with a differentiated brand proposition. The business has doubled revenues in the last two years and is on track to double it again over the next three years, reaching over €40 million. Its financial structure has also been reinforced, with a c. €50 million financing line from Banco Santander, reflecting lender confidence in the platform’s future and setting a significant precedent in the sector.

To lead this new stage, wecamp has appointed Marc Juncosa as CEO. Marc brings extensive experience in branding, sales and marketing, having played a key role in scaling fast-growing companies in the lifestyle and consumer segments. His track record in building brands, driving growth and connecting with new audiences makes him ideally suited to steer wecamp through its consolidation and brand-expansion phase. The leadership team will continue to work closely with Meridia’s team and the wecamp Board.

At the same time, Albert Montesinos, who has led wecamp since its inception in 2020 and contributed to shaping the brand and its early growth, will remain involved with the company as an advisor, supporting the transition and the next phase of the platform.

Marc Juncosa, CEO of wecamp, said: “wecamp has built a unique, design-forward proposition in Iberia’s most compelling outdoor destinations. My priority now is to leverage our brand, accelerate sales across both direct and partner channels and expand selectively—both across our portfolio and, where it makes sense, by partnering with third-party properties.”

Albert Montesinos added: “It has been an exciting journey to build wecamp from the ground up into today’s leading open-air hospitality platform. I am pleased to continue supporting the company in this new chapter, and I am confident that Marc and the team will take wecamp to the next level.”

Víctor Iborra, Real Estate Partner at Meridia, also commented: “From day one, the strategy was to professionalise an under-invested, fragmented segment with an institutional platform. With a high-quality portfolio across Spain and Portugal and supportive financing behind us, the business is structurally ready for the next step. We would like to thank Albert for his leadership in building wecamp from the ground up, and we welcome Marc as he takes the company into its next phase.”
