King & Wood Mallesons has advised private equity firm Suma Capital on the acquisition of 90% of Zamora Eco Energías, a subsidiary of the Spanish company DH Eco Energías.

The Zamora Eco Energías project, which will involve an investment of about 25 million euros, will promote a renewable heat network in Zamora through biomass boilers, transporting hot water for heating and sanitary water. With a capacity of 20 MW, the grid will supply heat to 6,400 homes, public and private non-residential buildings.

The team of KWM lawyers that has participated in this project has been led by Corporate partner Germán Cabrera, with the collaboration of senior associate Gonzalo Fernández, and associates Rosa Chen and Natalia Rodríguez.

Suma Capital has carried out this transaction through its fund SC Climate Impact III, a €300 million investment vehicle specialised in sustainability and positive environmental impact investments in companies that promote the energy transition and the circular economy in Europe.
