One year after the acquisition of Iberconseil by funds managed by Abac Capital, the Group has integrated two other cheese distributors in France and Italy serving mostly the Italian market. This way, the Group crystalizes its ambition to grow beyond the Iberian Peninsula to become a key player in the premium dairy market in Southern Europe.
Iberconseil, founded four decades ago, is the leader in Spain in the distribution of specialty cheeses and dairy products, connecting premium cheese manufacturers from all over Europe with the fragmented Spanish market. With a turnover of 90 million euros, Iberconseil sells more than 10,000 tons of cheese from all over Europe and manages more than 1,200 references from 170 suppliers through various distribution channels.
Disalp, also founded almost four decades ago, is a key player in the import and distribution of European cheese and dairy products in the Italian market. In turn, Adonis, founded 20 years ago, is specialized in the import of Greek cheese into Italy. Together with Iberconseil, the Group will close 2024 with a turnover of over 120 million euros.
Christophe Roux, CEO of Iberconseil, stated, “We are thrilled to announce that Disalp and Adonis will become part of Iberconseil’s Group to continue the legacy created over the last 40 years by its founder and management team. This strategic move aligns perfectly with our mission to connect premium European cheese producers with an atomized customer base. By combining our strengths, we are poised to enhance our market presence and continue our trajectory of excellence in the premium dairy sector.”
“I am very pleased to see the continuation of the cheese project we started forty years ago, associating with a group of the caliber and professionalism of Iberconseil” said Hervé Davoine, founder of Disalp and Adonis. Mr. Davoine will continue involved in the project, as shareholder of the Group and member of its International Committee.
Oriol Pinya, CEO of Abac Capital, remarked, “This transaction marks an important milestone towards our ambition to make of Iberconseil the leading Southern European distributor of premium dairy products. We are excited to join forces with a company that shares our vision to provide our clients with an extensive product portfolio, commercial and operational flexibility, and an excellent level of service”.
In the transaction, Iberconseil was advised by Deloitte (legal), BDO (due diligence) and KWM (tax). Meanwhile, the sellers were advised by David Faravelon Avocat (legal) and Fabien Giroud, Oddo BHF Private Banking (WM / M&A).
