The Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function , has announced an investment of 3.9 million euros in the Spanish company Impulse Studio , which will create in Madrid an independent comprehensive film studio that incorporates all phases of development of audiovisual projects: investment, production, infrastructure and national and international distribution.

This operation, the result of a public-private collaboration that adds up to a total investment of 8 million euros , is born with the purpose of reinforcing the prominent position that the Spanish audiovisual industry is achieving globally thanks to public investments and the boost of the Spain Audiovisual Hub Plan .

From Madrid, Impulse Studio will provide national and international audiovisual projects with all the services necessary for their development : from financing to co-production and distribution, as well as access to reference technological infrastructure: image laboratories, sound post-production, digital special effects (VFX) and filming studios.

Impulse plans to develop between 15 and 20 internationally focused projects over the next five years , boosting an industry with a greater capacity to compete in international markets and generating quality employment: each production is expected to generate 200 direct and indirect jobs .

In the area of distribution, the studio will oversee or manage international sales of its intellectual properties alongside the most relevant agents and distributors in the sector, maintaining an active presence at key festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, San Sebastián, Toronto, and the American Film Market (AFM) . The aim is to cover all distribution channels, both nationally and globally, from cinema and television to streaming platforms, to achieve maximum exposure and commercialization of the projects.

The study is led by Roberto Butragueño and Andrés Sánchez , professionals with a consolidated and recognized track record in the industry, with extensive experience in the production, distribution and financial structuring of international audiovisual projects.

SETT's investment in Impulse Studio will contribute to the revitalization of the Spain Audiovisual Hub by committing to the first comprehensive "end-to-end" studio in Spain, which will have state-of-the-art production, post-production and VFX facilities capable of competing internationally, and which, through a planned financial structure, will be able to optimize tax incentives, private capital investment, institutional aid and pre-sale agreements with distributors and platforms, which will enable the realization of complex productions, ensuring that they are financially viable.

This operation is possible thanks to the second phase of the Spain Audiovisual Hub Plan , an initiative that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan , and financed by the European Union – Next Generation funds – and led by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function, through the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA) .
