NOUS, a foodtech startup specializing in plant-based functional ingredients and part of the Eatable Adventures portfolio, has successfully closed a €2.3 million Seed funding round to accelerate the commercialization of Koncentra, its innovative functional ingredient designed for the energy, performance and wellness markets.
The round was led by Eatable Adventures, through its investment vehicle Accelera Ventures, alongside dsm-firmenich Ventures and CDP Venture Capital SGR.
The new funding will enable NOUS to further strengthen the scientific development behind Koncentra, scale its supply chain and accelerate its international expansion, bringing its next generation of functional ingredients to new markets and addressing the growing demand for natural, science-based solutions across the food and nutrition industries.
NOUS joined the Eatable Adventures ecosystem through FoodSeed, the agrifood acceleration program created to help science-driven startups transform breakthrough research into commercially viable businesses. Since joining the program, the company has benefited from strategic support, access to investment and connections with key industry partners, enabling it to successfully scale its innovation beyond the laboratory.
The successful completion of this funding round marks another important milestone for both NOUS and Eatable Adventures, demonstrating the strength of the firm's innovation ecosystem in supporting high-potential startups from early-stage development through to commercial growth. It also highlights the ability of Italy's agrifood innovation ecosystem to create globally competitive companies with strong technological foundations.
With this investment, NOUS enters a new phase focused on strengthening Koncentra's international market presence and accelerating its growth as a leading provider of next-generation plant-based functional ingredients for the future of food.
