GED Ventures Portugal closes the investment period of its main fund, GED Tech Seed, with 100 million euros, expanding GED’s Venture Capital area to over 150 million euros under management.

GED Ventures Portugalhas managed to invest, through its GED Tech Seed and GED Tech Growth funds, in 13 startups in just one year. The Portugal team has managed to identify a total of about 3,000 investment opportunities in technology companies in sectors such as surveillance, sustainability, health, logistics, finance, etc.

The latest investments, ranging from 0.2 to 7.5 million euros, are:

Virtuleap: A HealthTech and EdTech startup. Virtuleap’s virtual reality games assess and improve cognitive skills, offering potential therapeutic benefits for conditions such as ADHD. The investment reflects GED’s commitment to impactful technology, aiming to address the impending “Cognitive Crisis.”

Unbabel: GED has invested 7.75 million euros in Unbabel, an AI translation startup based in Lisbon. Unbabel combines AI and human expertise to provide scalable, high-quality translation services to companies worldwide, serving over 950 clients, including major brands like Nike and Disney.

Full Venue: A Portuguese AI company for sports and events. The startup’s AI-based audience segmentation has generated 5.7 million euros in revenue for its clients. Full Venue aims to revolutionize audience monetization across different verticals and markets.

Weezie: A Porto-based software startup specializing in fiber optic network management solutions, has secured 3 million euros in funding in a round led by GED Ventures Portugal. Weezie’s software streamlines operations for telecommunications companies, helping bring fiber optic connectivity to over 60 million homes worldwide.

Medyria: A Swiss HealthTech company has developed an innovative prototype for early detection of coronary artery disease. Its unique approach increases the effectiveness of tests for detecting coronary artery disease, thus improving diagnosis and the quality of life for those affected by this condition.

Kushki: Based in Quito, Ecuador, Kushki is a leading provider of modern and secure payment solutions. Its platform drives business development and expansion into new markets in South America and the United States, following international best practices.

Troop: Headquartered in the United States with a subsidiary in Madrid, Spain, as well as in South Africa and the United Kingdom, Troop offers a cloud-based platform for group meeting and travel planning. Its AI-driven approach enables businesses to efficiently, sustainably, and economically manage face-to-face meetings.
