Oryon Universal has reached an agreement with Fitch Learning to sell most of its 11% stake in Founderz, the online business school specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) founded by Pau Garcia-Milà and Anna Cejudo.
Fitch Learning is the training and financial education arm of Fitch Group, best known for its international credit rating agency Fitch Ratings. The group also includes other divisions such as Fitch Solutions, focused on data and macroeconomic research, and Sustainable Fitch, which provides ESG-related financial assessments. Fitch Group is, in turn, owned by the U.S. media conglomerate Hearst Corporation, one of the largest media companies in the world.
Following the transaction, the financial terms of which have not been disclosed, Oryon Universal will retain approximately a 4% stake in Founderz, according to the Catalan venture investment firm. In addition, Víctor Giné, founder and CEO of Oryon, will step down from his seat on the board of the education company.
The company led by Giné became a shareholder in Founderz in 2021 as a lead investor after identifying its potential in the field of digital education and, later, artificial intelligence. Since then, it has led three funding rounds in the company.
Founderz is a global training partner of Microsoft and has a worldwide community of more than 630,000 students across five continents. It offers practical AI training for professionals and businesses and has become one of the most successful projects of serial entrepreneur Pau Garcia-Milà.
Oryon has invested in around thirty companies, including Voilà, Onalabs, Hulahoop, Deale, and Aion Sales, and provides services in financial strategy, legal advisory, fundraising, business development, and international expansion.
