Fibtray®, a Valencia-based startup specialized in innovative sustainable packaging solutions for the food sector, has closed a €250,000 funding round with the participation of the specialized investment vehicle REDIT Ventures and its Investment Club. This transaction will enable the company to accelerate its growth roadmap, strengthen its industrial development, and take further steps in its national and international expansion strategy.
The capital injection comes at a key moment for Fibtray®, which is working on consolidating its proprietary technology aimed at transforming food packaging through sustainable trays capable of significantly reducing plastic use compared to conventional solutions, while maintaining the technical, logistical, and functional performance required by the industry.
The company, born as a spin-off from AINIA technology centre, is now entering a new phase focused on turning its innovation into a fully scalable industrial solution, with the capacity to be deployed across different markets and with clear adoption potential among major players in the food value chain. In a context of increasing regulatory pressure, growing demand for sustainability from retailers, and the need for adaptation among manufacturers and brands, Fibtray® positions itself as a solution with real impact potential in the future of food packaging.
“This round represents very important support for Fibtray® at a decisive moment in our evolution. It allows us to gain speed in the industrialization process, strengthen our execution capabilities, and continue building a solution designed to meet a global demand: reducing plastic in food packaging without compromising efficiency, safety, or competitiveness,” said Pablo García Monera, CEO of Fibtray®.
The entry of REDIT Ventures and its Investment Club provides the company not only with funding but also with strategic support and access to an innovation and industrial ecosystem that is particularly relevant at this stage of growth. The transaction also enhances Fibtray®’s credibility with potential industrial, commercial, and investment partners, and consolidates its positioning as one of the most promising industrial startups in Valencia in the field of sustainable materials and packaging.
Fibtray®’s growth strategy is based on a model focused on industrial collaboration and the progressive scaling of its technology, with the aim of facilitating efficient market deployment and accelerating agreements with partners capable of driving adoption in high-volume segments. The company aims to use this new phase to strengthen its internal capabilities, expand the validation of its solution in new application environments, and accelerate its commercial rollout.
Alongside industrial progress, internationalization is one of the main pillars of this new phase. Fibtray® is working with the ambition of taking its technology beyond the domestic market and positioning it in countries and regions where the transition towards more sustainable packaging solutions has already become a strategic priority for the food industry. The company plans to intensify its international presence, open new collaboration opportunities, and continue building a network of key relationships to scale its business model.
With this €250,000 round, Fibtray® strengthens its ability to move towards a more solid, structured, and ambitious growth phase, with the goal of establishing itself as a leading player in the sustainable transformation of food packaging from the Valencian Community to the international market.
