ERIA, the corporate venturing arm of the Estabanell energy group, has launched the third edition of its acceleration program with the participation of two startups specializing in digital solutions for the energy sector: Ingelectus and Loradix. Both companies will develop their projects within a program designed to accelerate technologies with real application potential in the fields of energy distribution and commercialization.

With an open innovation strategy, ERIA aims to identify technological solutions capable of addressing operational and business challenges detected by Estabanell’s different business units, aligned with the current challenges of the energy sector and the present and future needs of customers.

Technology applied to the transformation of the energy sector

The selected startups work on solutions related to the digitalization of the electrical grid, distributed energy flexibility, and the optimization of household energy consumption.

In energy distribution, Estabanell is seeking new digital services for the low-voltage grid through technologies capable of leveraging grid digitalization, enabling data-driven services, distributed energy flexibility, and third-party digital platforms. To address this challenge, Ingelectus (Seville) specializes in advanced technologies for the control and monitoring of smart electrical grids that are safer and more efficient. The company has more than a decade of international experience applied to the digitalization of low-voltage grids and the development of new data-driven energy services.

In energy commercialization, Estabanell is seeking home micro-flexibility solutions with customer control, aimed at activating household energy flexibility based on consumption data to reduce costs and improve user experience. Loradix (Madrid), a startup specializing in connectivity and home micro-flexibility solutions to optimize energy consumption, aims to improve communication coverage and enable new services for households, smart home systems, and vulnerable groups.

Applied innovation and connection with real business

The ERIA acceleration program lasts six months and operates under an equity-free model. Participating startups receive tailored strategic support through a mentorship team composed of growth and business development experts from Áticco Lab, as well as energy specialists from Estabanell. The program officially kicked off today at Estabanell’s headquarters in Granollers with an intensive Growth Bootcamp to define objectives, growth plans, and the most suitable mentoring team for each project.

At the end of the program, ERIA and the Estabanell Group may launch pilot projects or proofs of concept (PoCs) to validate solutions in a real environment, providing access to the group’s infrastructure and resources. The objective is to identify technologies capable of being integrated into Estabanell’s real services and business operations.

The startup with the best performance during the program will receive a €10,000 prize, determined based on the KPIs established throughout the acceleration process.

Josep Solé highlighted: “Startups bring speed, adaptability, and innovative solutions that complement the capabilities of a corporation like Estabanell and help address specific needs within our business units. Collaboration with startups allows us to identify strategically aligned projects and explore initiatives that generate real value for both the company and customers, as well as the broader energy sector.”

The third edition of the acceleration program reinforces Estabanell’s open innovation strategy to incorporate new technologies and explore solutions with direct business application. In addition to the acceleration program, ERIA promotes a venture client program to execute proofs of concept with startups in Estabanell’s infrastructure, as well as an intrapreneurship program that fosters internal talent to develop strategic challenges related to process automation, knowledge transfer, and technical talent acquisition.
