DOMINION has successfully concluded the second edition of BQUO, its acceleration program for entrepreneurial talent and innovative projects. Over the course of six months, participants have experienced an immersive residency in Bilbao, where they received personalized executive training, intensive mentorship from the company's executive team, and access to the resources of a multinational that fosters innovation and sustainability. Additionally, the accommodation and remuneration of the entrepreneurs during the program were fully funded by DOMINION, at no cost to the participants.

The event took place at DOMINION's headquarters in Bilbao, where the results of the second edition were presented, along with the main progress of the participating projects, the entrepreneurs' experiences, and the significant work of the mentors.

Mikel Barandiaran, CEO of DOMINION, highlighted during his speech: "This second edition of BQUO strengthens our commitment to innovation and sustainability, providing a unique space for entrepreneurs to develop technological solutions that can make a difference in the near future. We are convinced that supporting talent and people is essential to fostering a more sustainable future, and BQUO is a reflection of that philosophy".

Since its launch in October 2024, the second edition of BQUO has brought together international entrepreneurs from countries such as Peru, Mexico, and the United States, among others. These participants have developed innovative projects that address global challenges such as waste management, emission reduction, energy efficiency, and industrial process optimization, aligned with DOMINION's values and strategic objectives.

Patricia Berjón, Director of BQUO and Corporate Development at DOMINION, explained: "BQUO is much more than an acceleration program; it is an ecosystem where entrepreneurial talent meets DOMINION's business vision and culture. This program has allowed participants to take their projects to new heights, and for us, it has been an opportunity to learn and enrich ourselves with fresh ideas that drive our own transformation".

The projects that participated in this edition were aligned with DOMINION's strategic priorities, which aim to connect talent with the necessary resources to develop disruptive solutions around energy transition, digital transition, and the shift toward industrial sustainability. The program committee has decided to continue supporting several of these projects, recognizing their great potential:

1. Bioa²ma (México): Modesto Ricardo Contreras leads this initiative focused on the bioremediation of contaminated environments, such as sludge from wastewater treatment plants. Using fungi and bacteria, the project has demonstrated its ability to transform this sludge into high-quality biofertilizers, thus reducing environmental impact. This project has a key impact on sustainability and the circular economy, and has been able to validate its value proposition during its residency.
2. Gama Construction (México): Gabriela Bernal and Alan Fabian Romero have created a circular economy model that transforms plastic and textile waste into sustainable panels for construction. In collaboration with Koopera, Hondakin, and Berziklatu, this project has made significant progress in the development of functional prototypes and is close to finalizing its commercial viability, moving toward its certification and industrialization phase to serve the European market.
3. Zerogas (Perú): Danuska Alzamora Vegas has worked on optimizing DOMINION's mobile degasification process by incorporating technologies to recover the heat generated in the process and measure emissions in real time. Zerogas is presented as an innovative solution in the hydrocarbon industrial sector, ahead of international environmental regulations.
4. MaxREFRACT (Perú): Led by Luís Larios, MaxREFRACT promotes the recycling of refractory waste as a business line of DOMINION. This model, which has proven its economic and environmental viability in a steel mill in the Basque Country, is a strategic option for the reuse of industrial materials, reducing their disposal in landfills and contributing to the circular economy.
5. Corrosion detection in industrial structures (Estados Unidos): Led by Eric Morales, this project has explored the use of drones and artificial vision for the inspection of metal industrial structures, improving safety in sectors such as steelmaking and petrochemicals. Its use of AI for early corrosion detection not only enhances the safety of facilities but also reduces operational costs and associated risks.

The mentors of this edition, all members of DOMINION's executive team, shared their experience and industry knowledge to help the projects advance in their definition phases, transforming ideas into real solutions adapted to the global challenges of the industry.

This closing event also served as a platform to announce the opening of the third edition of BQUO on May 5, 2025. The call will focus on projects that add value to digital transformation and sustainability, with the goal of continuing to support entrepreneurial talent in creating disruptive solutions that have a positive impact on society.

"Talent and innovation are at the heart of DOMINION. BQUO is our boldest initiative to transform the future through sustainable entrepreneurship and technological disruption. We invite more entrepreneurs to join this journey and become part of the next generation of projects with the mission to change the business ecosystem in the Basque Country and globally", concluded Berjón.
