The SICC Innvierte of CDTI Innovación invests, together with two co-investors, in Savana (MEDSAVANA, S.L.) for the development of clinical data and artificial intelligence platforms that are revolutionizing healthcare and research.
CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, is carrying out this operation alongside SEAYA VENTURES II FCR and GED CONEXO VENTURES FCR. To date, the total investment amounts to €4,560,000.
Savana is a Spanish healthtech company founded in 2014 and present in 13 countries, leading the application of artificial intelligence to clinical language. Its technology unlocks the immense hidden value in unstructured data from electronic health records—such as medical notes or free-text reports—by transforming them into useful clinical evidence for research, healthcare management, and decision-making. In addition, Savana integrates existing structured data (such as coded diagnoses or lab results), offering a more complete and reliable clinical view. This enables the development of unique and differentiated use cases for all healthcare ecosystem stakeholders, from governments and hospitals to the pharmaceutical and medtech industries.
Thanks to its proprietary, multilingual clinical Natural Language Processing (cNLP) technology—scientifically validated—Savana harmonizes large volumes of previously inaccessible information and codes it according to international standards such as SNOMED CT, OMOP, or openEHR. This allows healthcare organizations to fully harness the potential of their data to conduct large-scale clinical studies and make decisions based on richer, more precise evidence.
