Transgourmet Ibérica acquires 100% of Dispuig, strengthening its position in Girona and its foodservice business line
Transgourmet Ibérica, dedicated to food distribution for the hospitality industry and proximity supermarkets, has acquired 100% of Dispuig, a food distribution company based in Girona and a benchmark in the sector in the region. With this acquisition, the company strengthens its position in the province and reinforces its business line focused on hospitality by incorporating the talent, experience, product range, and facilities of a company with more than 80 years supplying the hospitality sector.
Translink Corporate Finance acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Dispuig in the transaction. With this deal, Translink Corporate Finance Spain’s team has now closed four transactions in the past week.
Founded in Girona in 1944, Dispuig has an annual turnover of €50 million and employs 160 people. It specializes in the distribution of fresh fish, as well as cold cuts, cheeses, meat, frozen products, desserts, and coffee, among other items. The company also stands out for its complementary services of fish filleting and preparation, adapted to the needs of the hospitality sector.
Dispuig’s main facilities are located in Girona, where it operates a central platform of 4,000 m² and a fresh fish warehouse of 1,400 m². It also has another warehouse in Bolvir, serving the entire Cerdanya region. Its fleet consists of 45 vehicles dedicated to frozen and refrigerated product distribution, and another 25 for fresh fish, ensuring fast and high-quality service throughout northeastern Catalonia and southern France. This logistics network, combined with Dispuig’s strong presence in the area, will further consolidate Transgourmet’s position as the leading food distributor in the province of Girona.
Overall, the acquisition offers great potential for Transgourmet by integrating the expertise of a company like Dispuig—with its long-standing and consolidated track record in foodservice distribution for the hospitality industry—with Transgourmet’s experience in supply, logistics, and related distribution services.
According to Lluís Labairu, General Manager of Transgourmet Ibérica, “Dispuig fits perfectly with our strategy, which is built on pillars such as service to the hospitality industry and the supply of fresh products. This acquisition allows us to grow alongside a sector specialist and regional leader, while reinforcing our commitment to quality and proximity.”
This is the third corporate transaction completed by Transgourmet Ibérica in 2025. Earlier this year, the company partnered with Nudisco to create Nuditrans, a joint venture aimed at promoting the proximity supermarket business in the Levante area. As a result of this alliance, two Kuups supermarkets have already opened, in Novelda and Algemesí, adding to the more than thirty stores with which Nuditrans was launched.
Later, Transgourmet acquired the Moyà Saus group in Mallorca, adding two logistics platforms, three cash & carry stores, and a network of owned and franchised supermarkets. With this acquisition, the company strengthened its commitment to expanding its distribution business in the Balearic Islands.
With the acquisition of Dispuig, Transgourmet Ibérica continues to advance its strategy to lead food supply for the hospitality industry and proximity retail, consolidating its position in the fresh products segment.
