Tierra Ingeniería y Paisajismo (Tierra) has strengthened its shareholding with the entry of Miura Partners. The goal of this partnership is to expand in Iberia and develop new sustainable gardening services.

The Hernando family, founders of Tierra, will continue to lead the project in this new stage.

Tierra specializes in the creation and maintenance of sustainable green spaces for the private and public sector that require high technical and innovative expertise, promoting CO₂ sequestration, biodiversity and resilience to climate change in cities. Thanks to its positioning, Tierra has experienced an annual growth of 25% in the last decade, reaching €10 million turnover in 2022.

The partnership between Tierra and Miura seeks a solid expansion in Iberia, benefiting from Tierra’s privileged positioning and Miura’s experience in scaling high-growth projects, either organically or through the integration of other companies in the sector. With this partnership, Tierra will continue to lead the sustainable gardening space in Spain and Miura will support a project with a clear focus on environmental and social impact.

Tierra contributes to the fight against climate change and fosters decent employment

In addition to carbon sequestration, biodiversity promotion and building cities more resilient to climate change, Tierra contributes to fostering decent employment through its own training and hiring program for youth in labor and educational exclusion.

The EU has made it a priority to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, which has led to the introduction of various regulations aimed at improving sustainability in cities, which are mainly responsible for 70% of CO₂ emissions. Growing social awareness of the importance and need of green spaces has contributed to a boost of demand and a rapid consolidation of players in European countries. Tierra is at the forefront of this movement, leading the sustainable gardening market in Spain and looking to expand in Iberia.

Luis Seguí, Founding Partner & CEO at Miura Partners:

“Tierra is an inspiring example of the projects we aim to support from our Impact fund, with a solid and committed founding leadership team, sustained growth and a vision aligned with macro trends in sustainability. We are very excited to support Tierra in its expansion and consolidation in the market, contributing to its success and the positive impact on our society and the planet”.

Antonio Hernado, Founder & CEO at Tierra:

“We are very excited about a partnership that will allow us to offer added value to our clients, consolidate the growth of the company, strengthen the technical team that is already part of it and expand our services across Iberia. We will be in the best place to develop large projects and new services, in line with the demand that society is transferring to our customers. The entry of Miura will bring us a valuable vision, an enthusiastic and committed team and a wide experience in high growth and consolidation projects”.

Miura has been advised by KPMG (DD & Legal) and Deloitte (ESG & Impact DD), while Tierra by BDO (M&A & Legal).
