Nine Spanish companies have been selected in the latest round of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, positioning Spain, alongside Germany, as the top country in terms of funded innovative companies, with support from CDTI Innovación as the National Contact Point for the program in Spain.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) under Horizon Europe selected 61 innovative startups and SMEs to receive funding in the latest Accelerator round corresponding to October 2025. Out of 121 proposals that reached the final interview stage, 61 were chosen for the transformative nature of their technologies and their high commercial potential.
The total funding approved in this round amounts to nearly €467 million. Eighty-five percent of the beneficiary companies will receive blended financing, combining a grant — non-dilutive funding — of up to €2.5 million and an equity co-investment of up to €10 million. Other companies requested support exclusively as a grant (8 companies, 5 of them from the United Kingdom, a country not eligible for the equity portion) or only as equity (1 company). Twenty-eight percent of the selected companies have women in key executive positions (CEO, CTO, or CSO).
The selected companies come from 17 EU member states and Horizon Europe associated countries. Spain, with 9 selected companies, shares first place with Germany in terms of the number of funded companies, ahead of France (8) and Sweden (6), consolidating Spain’s leadership in the EIC Accelerator.

In total, 916 companies submitted proposals in this October 2025 round. Of these, 161 were invited to the interview stage (18%), including 13 Spanish companies, many of which used the CDTI Innovación mock interview service to prepare for this decisive stage and improve their funding chances.
The overall success rate at the interview stage was 50%, rising to nearly 70% for Spanish companies. Additionally, six of the funded Spanish companies had previously received support from the CDTI Innovación NEOTEC program, and one received funding from the Women TechEU call, highlighting the consistency of the deep-tech support pathway from national to European level.
