ATP Engineering & Packaging is a company based in Barberà del Vallès (Barcelona). It employs 60 people and has 30 years of experience in the manufacture of complete lines and packaging machinery.
Through this transaction, Mondragon Assembly complements its current technological strengths and takes a strategic step forward in its business diversification process, gaining direct access to the food packaging sector, particularly in the manufacture of picking and case-packing lines.
With this partnership, ATP brings to Mondragon Assembly entry into the food packaging sector alongside a well-established player with extensive industry experience, a strong presence among major clients, highly technological and high-quality products, and a solid, experienced professional team.
Conversely, Mondragon Assembly offers ATP integration into a consolidated group, access to new markets through its international footprint, financial resources and capacity, as well as the management systems of a multi-plant, multi-location organization.
The acquisition agreement — under which Mondragon Assembly acquires 100% of the company’s share capital — was signed on February 19 in Barcelona, in the presence of ATP partners Nereo Urbano, Ignasi Manresa, Manel Bernat and Joaquín Bellido, together with Mikel Gantxegi, Managing Director of Mondragon Assembly, and Igor Herrarte, President of Mondragon Assembly.
