ERIA (Grupo Estabanell), the corporate venturing arm of the energy and telecommunications group Estabanell, has opened applications for the third edition of its startup acceleration program. The open call, targeting pre-seed and seed-stage startups, will remain open until April 13, 2026, seeking companies developing innovative solutions to address challenges in energy generation, distribution, and commercialization.

This third edition of the ERIA acceleration program aims to identify innovative projects with tangible business impact, aligned with customer needs and trends in the energy sector. The collaboration model between startups and Estabanell enables real-world testing of technologies, evaluating their potential and exploring ways to integrate solutions into the group. This continuous innovation approach transforms disruptive projects into practical applications within the energy sector.

Third edition: four innovation challenges for startups

This edition presents four challenges aligned with key sector trends:

  • Renewable energy generation: advanced operation and maintenance for photovoltaic plants. Solutions based on drones, robotics, and advanced analytics to detect early issues in solar plants and improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Energy distribution: new digital services for the low-voltage grid. Technologies leveraging grid digitalization to enable data-driven services, distributed energy flexibility, and third-party digital platforms.
  • Energy commercialization: compact and affordable home battery. Development of residential batteries for homes with contracted power between 3 and 7 kW, allowing optimized consumption and energy savings.
  • Energy commercialization: domestic micro-flexibility with customer control. Digital solutions to activate energy flexibility in households without EVs or aerothermal systems, using consumption data to reduce costs and improve customer experience.

Acceleration with mentorship, resources, and industry connection

The program lasts approximately six months, with the four selected startups receiving comprehensive support in an equity-free model. Key benefits include:

  • Strategic mentorship, with a board of 2–3 mentors from the Áticco Lab network and one energy specialist mentor from Estabanell.
  • An initial two-day Growth Bootcamp in Barcelona to define goals and growth plans for each project.

At the end of the program, ERIA and Estabanell may offer participating startups the opportunity to execute proofs of concept (PoCs) using the group’s infrastructure and resources.

The startup showing the best progress during the program will receive a €10,000 prize, based on KPIs tracked throughout the acceleration process.

Selection process and key dates

This third edition reinforces Estabanell’s commitment to connecting with startups and bringing innovation closer to the business, enabling solutions to be tested in real environments and turned into tangible business impact. ERIA also runs a venture client program for PoC execution and an intrapreneurship program to promote internal talent in developing new energy and home services.

  • Applications deadline: April 13, 2026 (ERIA website)
  • Selected startups notified: April 27, 2026
  • Program start: Bootcamp in May 2026
  • Program duration: six months
  • Demo Day: December 2026, where startups present to mentors, investors, and industry stakeholders
