The expansion in the Mexican market of Green Universe, a group specialized in the development of high-tech biosolutions that maximize crop yields in a sustainable way, will be supported by COFIDES.
Through a co-investment loan of €200k from the Fund for Foreign Investment Operations of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (FONPYME) and its own resources, COFIDES will finance the consolidation of the aforementioned company's subsidiary in Mexico, operating since 2014 and focused on commercial activities and on carrying out field tests and trials to adapt its products to the particularities of the climate and the country's legal requirements.
This project, allocated with a total investment of €286k, is part of the group's strategic plan, which includes its growth in the international arena -being already present in 14 markets- and the diversification of its customer portfolio among its priority objectives.
Investment in R&D and the development of new products are an integral part of the focus of Green Universe, which designs solutions aimed to increasing crops’ productivity and quality, always with focused on efficiency and sustainability.
The COFIDES Investment Department corporate director, Miguel Ángel Ladero, highlighted the importance of "backing companies, such as Green Universe, which make innovation in environmental matters an essential part of their identity, values that are also fundamental for COFIDES, as has been shown in our investment strategy."
