Encomenda Capital Partners and Fundación Prevent have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at making entrepreneurship a viable career path for people with disabilities. As part of the partnership, the venture capital firm will contribute to the foundation's programmes by delivering training in investment and entrepreneurship, equipping participants with the knowledge needed to better understand access to funding and the development of their business projects.

Encomenda's team brings together entrepreneurial and investment expertise, with more than 20 years of experience in venture capital and involvement in over 250 startups. Through this collaboration, the firm will share its knowledge with programme participants, offering practical insights into the startup ecosystem based on first-hand experience in founding, scaling and investing in technology companies.

"We want to put our experience at the service of talented people who aspire to become entrepreneurs and help them better understand how the investment ecosystem works. A strong entrepreneurial ecosystem should also be an inclusive one," said Mercè Tell, General Partner at Encomenda.

Fundación Prevent is a private non-profit organisation with nearly 30 years of experience dedicated to promoting the labour inclusion of people with disabilities. For the past 12 years, it has been a pioneer in Spain in delivering training, mentoring and business acceleration programmes for entrepreneurs with all types of disabilities. Through its Aprende y Emprende incubator and Powernauts accelerator, the foundation has supported more than 400 business projects. With this partnership, both organisations aim to help more people with disabilities access the entrepreneurial ecosystem while overcoming barriers such as access to funding, support networks and specialised resources.

"For Fundación Prevent, this agreement marks an important step in strengthening our position in the fields of entrepreneurship and disability. Over more than 12 years of experience, we have identified that access to financing is often more challenging for people with disabilities due to lower personal savings, greater reliance on external support, fewer professional networks and limited access to specialised training," said Montse Moré, Director of Fundación Prevent.
