Innvierte is an initiative designed to promote business innovation by supporting venture capital investments in technology-based or innovative companies. The program is implemented through Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., a self-managed closed-end investment company supervised by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), with CDTI Innovación as its sole shareholder.
To date, CDTI Innovación has committed €2.183 billion to 57 investment vehicles, which have invested in more than 602 companies. Through its co-investment scheme, it has directly committed €632 million in 188 companies.
Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This strategy outlines the objectives, reforms, and measures to be implemented in the field of R&D&I to boost its growth and impact and serves as a foundation for the Spanish Government’s innovation policy over the coming years.
The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI E.P.E.) is the innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, whose mission is to promote technological innovation within the business sector. CDTI’s mission is to ensure that the Spanish business ecosystem generates and transforms scientific and technical knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable, and inclusive growth. In 2024, as part of its new strategic plan, CDTI provided more than €2.3 billion in support to Spanish companies and startups.
