CDTI Innovación, the state innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has joined as the first institutional partner of SECPHO a hub specialized in deep-tech technologies that connects companies, knowledge centers, and high-intensity innovation scientific-technological agents. This partnership strengthens CDTI’s positioning as a leading public actor in frontier technologies and expands its capabilities in institutional relations, ecosystem activation, and knowledge exchange with actors especially active in technological innovation.
SECPHO organizes its activities around six service vectors for its members (ecosystem, market, public funding, capital, talent, and knowledge), combining sectoral directories, reference publications, specialized networking activities, knowledge-sharing events, and initiatives aimed at deploying technological capabilities and business development. Within this framework, CDTI Innovación joins with an institutional profile focused on establishing a stable relationship with a dynamic and highly segmented deep-tech ecosystem, with the potential to generate synergies in areas such as technology transfer, cooperation, internationalization, trend identification, and qualified visibility of innovation initiatives.
CDTI’s participation aligns with the action lines outlined in its 2024–2027 Strategic Plan, which identifies the promotion of deep-tech and the articulation of transfer activities as cross-cutting priorities, while positioning partnerships as key levers to multiply capabilities, strengthen networks, and structure ecosystems. In a context where technology is advancing rapidly and specialized ecosystems tend to concentrate knowledge, talent, and sector connections, this type of collaboration enhances public action with greater reach, specialization, and proximity to actors leading emerging technological developments. This engagement provides a flexible and useful framework to activate concrete initiatives wherever opportunities for exchange and collaboration exist, using a soft approach based on identifying added-value spaces and potential synergies.
Specifically, CDTI’s incorporation as an institutional partner represents a unique step within SECPHO, as it is the first public entity to join the ecosystem. This alliance is also seen as an opportunity to co-design a medium-term partnership model that maximizes institutional utility and reinforces CDTI’s role as a facilitator of networks, knowledge, and technology transfer within the deep-tech sector.
The experience of the SECPHO ecosystem and its service portfolio open a wide range of opportunities for institutional collaboration across multiple areas of activity. In terms of added value, this will allow CDTI Innovación to operate more effectively in qualified introductions, access to highly specialized communities, sector analysis, and an institutional presence based on utility rather than mere visibility.
