CDTI Innovación’s Innvierte SICC invests alongside Orza Gestión y Tenencia de Patrimonios AIE and Kutxa Fundazioa in Polimerbio, an innovative company manufacturing biodegradable medical devices

Polimerbio is a biotechnology company focused on the research, design, development, and manufacturing of biodegradable medical devices based on biomaterials, with extensive expertise in polymer chemistry.

Through the medical devices it is developing, Polimerbio aims to reduce surgical interventions and hospital costs, while improving patients’ quality of life and the effectiveness of medical treatments and procedures. These products, based on polymeric biomaterials, are initially aimed at treating urethral stricture—an abnormal narrowing of the urethra caused by scar tissue that reduces urine flow and can lead to issues such as urinary tract infections, difficulty urinating, and fluid retention.

CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has completed an investment transaction in this biotechnology company together with Orza Gestión y Tenencia de Patrimonios AIE and Kutxa Fundazioa, with a total investment amount of €450,000. Through this stake, CDTI Innovación contributes to improving people’s health and well-being by promoting the development of products that accelerate patient recovery and reduce hospital costs and waste.
