The Governing Board of CDTI Innovación, the Public Business Entity attached to Spain’s Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has approved 113 new R&D&I projects with a total budget of €85.7 million. CDTI Innovación will contribute €70.8 million to these initiatives, including €12.2 million in non-repayable funding.
A total of 125 financing operations have been approved, all under the loan modality.
The approved projects involve 125 companies, of which 44 are receiving CDTI Innovación funding for the first time. Eighty-four of the beneficiary companies are SMEs. Together, these companies employ 348 professionals dedicated to achieving the projects’ objectives.

Of the 125 operations approved during this meeting:
·56 operations are co-financed through the Multi-Regional Operational Programme of Spain (POPE) 2021–2027.
·1 operation is co-financed through the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF/FEMPA).
·1 operation is co-financed through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF/MRR).
The POPE 2021–2027 programme enables CDTI Innovación to offer a non-repayable grant component of up to 30% for eligible projects, regardless of the size of the beneficiary company.
The 56 co-financed operations represent a total budget of €27.7 million, with public support amounting to €22.9 million.
The regions benefiting from these projects include Andalusia, Murcia, Valencia, Galicia, Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, and the Canary Islands.
One project located in Galicia received €1.62 million in public funding against a total budget of €1.9 million.
The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund allows CDTI Innovación to provide a non-repayable component of up to 33% of project financing, irrespective of company size.
One project in Andalusia received €319,350 in public support against a total budget of €375,706.
Under the ISCIII-CDTI initiative (TransMisiones 2023), Recovery and Resilience Facility co-financing allows CDTI Innovación to offer a non-repayable component of up to 33%.
