Encomenda, through its Encomenda Seed II fund, has led a funding round of over €350,000 in CarHub, with participation from Bolkana, Technetium and several business angels. The capital raised will enable the startup to accelerate product development, strengthen its team, and scale its vehicle import and registration operations.
CarHub becomes the fund’s 25th portfolio company. The fund has raised over €30 million from private investors and family offices, with a target of reaching between 45 and 50 portfolio companies in total. The transaction reinforces a key diversification strategy within Encomenda’s investment thesis, aimed at building a diversified, multi-sector portfolio.
The startup addresses a structural inefficiency in Spain’s used car market, stemming from fragmentation across the European market. In countries such as Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium, prices can be between 15% and 25% lower than in Spain, creating a significant savings opportunity for individual buyers. However, access to these vehicles is limited by the complexity of cross-border processes and operational frictions associated with importation and registration in the destination country.
To address this issue, the company, founded in 2024, has developed an end-to-end marketplace that allows users to locate, inspect, import, register, and receive the vehicle at their doorstep, eliminating the main friction points in the process. In this context, it operates in a growing market, with a 20% increase in used vehicle imports in 2025 compared to 2024, according to Ganvam.
“We are a young team, but we have been managing a complex process end-to-end for months. We’ve learned a lot with each transaction, and this round with Encomenda will allow us to scale what we already know works,” said Carlos Fernández, CEO and co-founder of CarHub.
