Anta Asset Management, the alternative asset manager of Corporación Financiera Azuaga, and the platform Mira Entertainment Capital are launching Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I, FCR, a private equity fund with a target size of €80 million focused on the audiovisual sector—one of the segments with the strongest structural growth globally, with particular potential in the Spanish and Spanish-speaking markets.
This product is conceived with the ambition of becoming the largest specialized fund for the Hispanic industry and anticipates exponential growth in its target scope. Mira Anta also plans to develop additional funds focused on specific verticals within the industry, increasing capacity beyond what was initially envisaged at the launch of this partnership.
The vehicle is expected to deliver an annualized net return of between 12% and 14%, supported by a hybrid strategy combining equity investment and structured financing, with an investment horizon of 6+2 years.
The fund will focus on Spanish SMEs in the audiovisual sector with high growth potential, covering the entire value chain—from creation, production, and distribution to specialized ancillary services linked to the industry—within a context marked by the expansion of digital platforms, rising content demand, and the emergence of new disruptive and innovative business models with strong global potential.
The strategy is launched in a context of profound transformation in the audiovisual market, driven by the growth of digital platforms, demand for new formats, and the emergence of innovative models with global reach. Particular interest will be given to projects related to vertical fiction, virtual production, XR, artificial intelligence applied to audiovisual content, immersive technologies, and advanced production services. In all cases, Mira Anta will assess the technical and business strength of project teams, as well as their ability to bring talent, creative innovation, and scalability to the sector.
A growing sector with a financing gap
The audiovisual industry has experienced strong growth in recent years, driven by digitalization and the internationalization of content. Spain has established itself as one of Europe’s leading production hubs, supported by a competitive environment and tax incentives that make it one of the most attractive countries globally for this type of investment.
However, this growth has not been matched by equivalent access to financing. The market structure—dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises—and the complexity of audiovisual revenue models limit the ability of traditional banks to finance projects, creating a structural gap that opens opportunities for private capital.
In this context, the fund aims to position itself as a key player in financing the industry by providing solutions tailored to the sector’s specific characteristics.
Investment strategy: equity and structured financing
Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I will combine different types of investment, including:
This model allows the fund to capture returns both from the growth of portfolio companies and from financial instruments with recurring yields, in a market where alternative financing remains limited.
According to Fernando Morales, Chairman of Anta Asset Management: “The launch of Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I responds to a very clear opportunity: a sector with solid structural growth but significant limitations in access to financing. Our goal is to provide smart, specialized capital that understands the logic of the audiovisual industry and helps accelerate high-potential projects.”
José Carlos Conde, Chairman of Mira Entertainment Capital, added: “The Spanish audiovisual industry is a powerhouse of talent, creativity, and production that clearly requires greater financial support from private capital. We are at a turning point, facing a structural transformation in how the sector is understood and operated, with significant opportunities.”
A partnership between financial expertise and industry knowledge
The fund combines Anta Asset Management’s experience in alternative asset management with the operational expertise of Mira Entertainment Capital, which is part of Womack Group—one of the most dynamic global audiovisual groups in Spain and Latin America. This combination enables the fund to identify investment opportunities with greater analytical and execution capabilities, reducing risks in a highly specialized sector.
The fund will also rely on a highly specialized industry team, along with an executive and advisory committee composed of leading figures from the Spanish-speaking audiovisual elite.
