4Founders Capital, one of the most renowned venture capital firms in Spain's entrepreneurial ecosystem, has announced the launch of its third fund, 4Founders Capital III, with a target size of €65 million. In its first closing, the firm has already secured €44 million, representing more than 67% of the planned capital, thanks mainly to the support of its existing investors, who are once again placing their trust in this new fund. The fund is backed by family offices, tech entrepreneurs, and institutional investors.
With this new fund, the firm plans to continue its strategy of investing in early-stage startups, with initial investments ranging between €250,000 and €2 million. The goal is to invest in around 40 high-potential tech startups with global scalability, while also providing follow-on investments to those companies that demonstrate the strongest growth.
With the €44 million already secured, the company has begun its investment activity with two investments. It has participated in Punto Post’s €1 million funding round, a startup aiming to transform last-mile logistics in Mexico through a SaaS solution integrated with e-commerce and logistics operators. Additionally, it has invested in Mogu’s funding round, a startup whose SaaS accelerates sales for travel agencies.
"Thanks to the strong returns from our first two funds and the continued support of our existing investors, who have once again placed their trust in us, we have successfully completed the first closing of 4Founders Capital III," said Marc Badosa, co-founder of 4Founders Capital. "This new fund allows us to continue backing the most promising tech startups and to help them scale globally. Our experience, consistency, and track record with the previous two funds have been key to achieving this successful first closing, especially given the current market environment."
The fund is led by a team of former entrepreneurs and investors with proven experience in venture capital and the creation of multimillion-dollar startups: Jesús Monleón, Javier Pérez-Tenessa, Marc Badosa, Marek Fodor, and Paula Blázquez. Collectively, they have founded six companies that today generate over €140 million in annual EBITDA. Their expertise in value creation and identifying high-growth opportunities positions them as a key reference in the industry.
4Founders Capital: The largest and leading pre-seed investment firm
4Founders Capital, with over €100 million in assets under management, is the largest and most prominent firm investing in pre-seed stages. It maintains a close relationship with SeedRocket, Spain’s first and most recognized tech startup accelerator, founded in 2008. This, combined with the extensive network of its management team, gives 4Founders Capital access to 85% of the deal flow in the Spanish ecosystem. Thanks to this advantage, 4Founders Capital identifies and invests in high-potential early-stage startups, co-investing alongside top tech entrepreneurs. The fund's size—the largest at this investment stage—allows it to continue supporting companies as they grow and evolve.
In this regard, 4Founders Capital III builds on the successful track record of its previous funds. 4Founders Capital I, launched in 2017 with a capital of €12 million, has demonstrated strong performance, achieving a net IRR of 20.84% for investors to date. The fund invested in 27 startups and has already secured 9 exits, including the home run of Holded, which returned the entire fund within five years. Currently, 4Founders Capital I holds 13 high-potential companies in its portfolio, including The Hotel Network, Mailsuite or Flanks. Similarly, 4Founders Capital II, launched in 2021 with a €50 million fund size, continued expanding the investment strategy, building a portfolio of 38 startups, with standout companies such as Embat, Zenrows, Vidext, TaxDown, Viterbit, DealCar or Invofox.
"This new fund represents a unique opportunity for investors looking to invest in technology, with strong diversification and excellent returns," adds Marek Fodor co-founder of 4Founders Capital. "For entrepreneurs, it means having a partner who truly understands their needs—because we’ve been there before—and who is ready to contribute and support them at every stage."
With this, 4Founders Capital further establishes itself as the largest institutional fund in pre-seed rounds, boasting an exit rate significantly higher than the market average.
