Until June 30, entrepreneurs with innovative initiatives and high growth potential can still apply to take part in the 27th edition of a program that drives the development of startups.
The Regional Ministry of Economy and Finance, through the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICECYL), has supported a total of 303 projects through Wolaria, helped create 243 companies, generated 1,233 jobs, and facilitated €65.62 million in investment, with a 3-year survival rate of 78%. The financing secured amounts to €51.64 million. Its impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Castilla y León has made it a national benchmark.
A pioneer in public acceleration, Wolaria ranks among the top 100 in the 2025 Financial Times ranking of 4,000 European startup accelerators (hubs), specifically 80th in Europe and 6th in Spain, and is listed in the top 5 in the 2025 Funcas report.
A free program
This is a free program to support innovative entrepreneurship in Castilla y León, offering access to services, funding, guidance, and specialized mentoring. Once the acceleration phase is complete, companies become part of Wolaria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, gaining access to networking activities, training workshops, and investment forums that support the search for public or private financing.
In addition, the Regional Government is launching nine vertical accelerators using the same methodology as Wolaria, each focused on strategic sectors—one in each province—and working as a network: the accelerator in Ávila will develop projects related to culture and heritage; Burgos will focus on green energy; León on aerospace; Palencia on agri-food projects; Salamanca on biotechnology, video games, and digital animation; Segovia on emerging tourism projects; Soria on natural resource development; Valladolid on sports-related startups; and Zamora on the care economy.
As part of this process, ICECYL offers startups a wide range of public and private resources, along with the collaboration of key stakeholders in the regional innovation ecosystem, such as universities, technology centers, and major regional corporations.
