The winners of the 6th edition of Renfe’s TrenLab startup acceleration program are four companies that will develop real pilots over six months, with initial funding of €50,000 per project and the possibility of securing a contract of up to €1 million with Renfe:

  • Robot Technology Solutions (RTS): Winner of the “Improving Real-Time Customer Information” challenge, RTS proposes an intelligent virtual assistant accessible via a web app. Its tool provides up-to-date information on schedules, incidents, accessibility, connections with other modes of transport, and points of interest, enhancing the experience of Cercanías passengers.
  • Turing Challenge: Selected for the “Transforming Customer Service at Stations” challenge, this artificial intelligence startup will develop an assistant capable of analyzing the intent of complaints and automatically routing them to the appropriate departments.
  • Cyraco: Winner of the “Rail Maintenance Automation and Digitization” challenge, Cyraco offers a plug-and-play system that digitizes technical documentation and optimizes inspection processes. Its solution can reduce operational costs by up to 80% and increase efficiency by 300%.
  • QCentroid: Chosen for the “Operational Efficiency with Quantum Computing” challenge, their proposal focuses on quantum computing to optimize fleet allocation and route planning, improving Renfe’s overall efficiency.

These startups were officially presented on October 13, 2025, in Madrid, showcasing solutions aligned with Renfe’s goals of digitalization, sustainability, and enhanced customer experience.

Since 2018, this program has connected the strategic challenges of rail transport with entrepreneurial talent, generating technological solutions applicable at a real scale, as its organizers explain. After evaluating over 1,000 startups, accelerating 26, investing more than €2.5 million in pilots, and over €6 million in contracts, TrenLab has established itself as a benchmark initiative in corporate mobility innovation.
