The Zaragoza City Council – through Etopia, the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology – together with the National Cybersecurity Institute (Incibe), Fundación Ibercaja, and in collaboration with Sherpa Tribe, are launching the Startup Boost project to accelerate innovative companies in mobility, sustainability, and cybersecurity.
Both the banking foundation and the City Council are developing the Startegy program as an umbrella for Startup Boost and as part of the Incibe Emprende initiative, within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which channels financing from the NextGeneration-EU Funds. In this case, the program will begin on September 17 and will last 4 months. Candidates may apply until September 8, the deadline for applications, after which the projects will be reviewed and selected. Startups interested in applying can do so starting today at the following link: https://form.typeform.com/to/ubl7VTTW
“The training of our city’s entrepreneurs in such current fields as technology and cybersecurity is essential for their continued growth. This is a new opportunity for strengthening and modernization, complementing the work already carried out through all the programs hosted at Etopia, the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology,” said Carlos Gimeno, Zaragoza City Councilor for Economy, Digital Transformation and Transparency.
Selected startups will benefit from a hybrid format, both online and offline, with 90 hours of in-person training sessions at Fundación Ibercaja’s facilities, both at Mobility City and Etopia, as well as 45 hours of individual mentoring and up to 60 hours of personalized advisory sessions. All of these will be led by distinguished mentors and trainers in the fields of technology, mobility, finance, legal, cybersecurity, internationalization, and entrepreneurship. In addition, throughout the program, there will be networking sessions with key players from the technology and mobility entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering a unique opportunity to learn from the successes of recognized leaders.
“At Fundación Ibercaja, we foster innovation through programs and activities that address society’s new needs within our field of action, based on four core values: commitment, transparency, professionalism, and dynamism,” said José Luis Rodrigo, General Director of Fundación Ibercaja.
Cybersecurity is currently a fast-growing sector that sustains nearly 125,000 quality jobs in Spain. In 2025 alone, it is estimated that the sector could generate more than 99,000 stable, well-paid, high-quality jobs with strong future prospects.
“During the program, participants will receive guidance from top-level experts, with cybersecurity integrated as a key component. Through innovative approaches and tailored strategies, entrepreneurs will be able to rethink their business models and improve their value proposition in record time, achieving strong positioning in a highly competitive market,” explained Stéphan Maisons, founder and CEO of Sherpa Tribe.
