Two decades of early-stage investment demonstrate that well-managed seed capital is the lever that activates the regional venture capital ecosystem

The Madrid Region not only attracts talent, it retains and scales it. After nearly two decades of activity, the BAN madri+d Investor Network presents results that demonstrate that early-stage investment is an essential driver of the regional venture capital ecosystem.

A living, active ecosystem

46% survival rate: figures that stand out

Of the 705 companies supported by the network or participating in its investment forums to date, a solid 46% remain active technology-based companies (TBCs) or have been acquired. Of those TBCs, 83% are non-acquired companies that continue operating in the Community of Madrid, highlighting their local anchoring and the growth capacity of their entrepreneurial teams. Most notably, the network’s effectiveness is clear: 1 in 5 of these strategic companies secured their investment directly through BAN madri+d—three times the success rate of other profiles.

Figures that reflect scalability

€26 million invested, €390 million raised

The network’s impact goes far beyond the initial contribution. While direct investment facilitated by the network’s investors amounts to more than €26.1 million, the total capital raised by participating startups exceeds €390 million across 105 companies. The ratio is striking: every euro invested has attracted fifteen additional euros, turning BAN madri+d into the trust signal founders need to access larger funding rounds.

“The network acts as a necessary starting point for raising subsequent rounds; its backing is the signal the market is waiting for.”

2025: a year of milestones

€117 million raised by the portfolio in the last year alone

Current momentum is undeniable. In 2025 alone, network investors injected €3.2 million into seven new startups, including Alcyon Photonics and 2EyesVision. However, the seed effect becomes truly visible in companies that previously passed through its forums: in the last year alone, six of them collectively raised €117 million—10% of total investment received by Madrid-based startups in 2025—reinforcing BAN madri+d’s role as a strategic partner for entrepreneurs in early-stage phases.

The BAN madri+d Network not only facilitates capital; it builds the industrial fabric of the future. Two decades of quiet work have shaped an ecosystem in which BAN madri+d opens doors, validates projects in the eyes of the market, and connects them with the capital they need to scale. The numbers confirm it: €390 million in cumulative impact stands as the strongest proof of BAN madri+d’s role as a strategic partner for Madrid’s entrepreneurs.
