Telefónica Open Future announces the launch of its 2nd National Call in search of technology-based startups developing solutions in areas such as Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, blockchain, e-health, or smart cities. The Open Future initiative is carried out in collaboration with regional public and private partners and aims to promote entrepreneurship beyond large cities, offering an acceleration program of up to 12 months that combines specialized mentoring, coworking spaces, and access to a global innovation network.
This call involves six Open Future spaces located in different provinces of Spain: El Ángulo (Ceuta), La Atalaya (Badajoz), El Cubo (Seville), La Farola (Málaga), El Cable (Almería), and El Patio (Córdoba).
The call is already open and will remain available until October 20. Up to ten technology-based business projects will be selected, allowing them to develop their ideas over eight months of acceleration, extendable for an additional four months.
Since its foundation in 2020, El Ángulo has defined itself as an innovative space aimed at fostering talent, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and technological training to create and strengthen the business ecosystem in Ceuta, within an environment offering unique tax advantages. Since opening, it has evaluated more than 100 projects, accelerated 49 startups, and provided over 3,000 hours of mentoring. By 2025, it ranks second nationwide in the category “Global Ranking of Medium-Sized Business Accelerators” by Fundación Funcas.
Applications are already open and will remain available until October 29. The Extremadura-based space will select three startups with a minimum viable product (MVP) or close to achieving one, particularly in sectors such as e-health, fintech, IoT, or industry 4.0.
Since opening in 2019, La Atalaya has become a benchmark space supporting entrepreneurs in Extremadura through acceleration initiatives, market access, and investment readiness. It has accelerated 54 startups after evaluating more than 160 projects, totaling over 500 hours of mentoring delivered by its 15 mentors, while offering entrepreneurs a personalized and tailored roadmap.
The Andalucía Open Future spaces in the provinces of Málaga, Seville, Almería, and Córdoba will keep their call open throughout 2025 and are seeking innovative startups in the digital field with an MVP or in advanced development stages.
Since their launch in 2014, the four spaces have received more than 1,600 applications, successfully accelerating 307 startups, consolidating their position as a national benchmark in tech entrepreneurship. They have a network of more than 80 expert mentors who support entrepreneurs throughout the acceleration process, with proven results: more than 56% of the companies finish the program generating revenue, and 30% manage to secure investment.
