Saesco Medical, a Barcelona-based medical technology group, continues its growth strategy through acquisitions following the entry of Miura Partners into its shareholder structure at the end of 2025, acquiring close to 50% of the capital.

The group has announced the acquisition of the Italian company Medcomp, as well as the purchase of the production unit of Catalan medical supplier Sangüesa. With these two transactions, Saesco reaches a total of ten acquisitions since 2019, reinforcing its position as a broad-based European distributor of medical technology solutions for minimally invasive surgery.

Saesco did not disclose the financial terms of the transactions but stated that both acquisitions “fully align” with its European growth and sector consolidation strategy, according to CEO and co-founder Jordi Fluvià.

Founded in 2009 in Barcelona by the Saenger Escolà family and Jordi Fluvià, Saesco generates approximately €50 million in revenue. The company experienced significant expansion last year with the acquisition of Catalan company Cardiolink and German company Rivolution. Cardiolink, founded in 2004 by Josep Gatell and Manuel Vidal, specializes in the implementation of medical technologies in Spain and Portugal, while Rivolution is a leading distributor of medical consumables and equipment, strengthening Saesco’s entry into the German market.

Saesco currently serves more than 2,000 clients across Europe, including hospitals and specialized clinics, and maintains direct presence in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Regarding the acquisition of Medcomp, the group confirmed that the Italian distributor, based in Milan, specializes in gynecology and general surgery and will maintain its current management team. It will operate in coordination with Dimed, Saesco’s Turin-based subsidiary. With this transaction, Saesco Medical expands its commercial capabilities and product portfolio in the Italian market, further consolidating its international growth strategy.

In parallel, the acquisition of the production unit of Sangüesa and its subsidiary Tramedic strengthens Saesco’s position in the commercialization of medical products for the hospital sector. Sangüesa and Tramedic entered insolvency proceedings in early February. Saesco will invest more than €3 million to stabilize and develop the transferred business, originally founded in 1987 in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona) and operating across Spain. The company will also assume the workforce linked to the acquired unit, maintaining Joan Carles Esperanza as head of the team.

Saesco also stated that the integration of Sangüesa will expand and complement its existing portfolio with new solutions in neurosurgery, trauma, and spine treatments, strengthening an offering that already exceeds 600 medical products distributed from international manufacturers.

Founded in 2008 by Massimo Giusti, Medcomp operates a nationwide sales network in Italy through representatives, agents, and distributors, serving hospitals, private clinics, and healthcare facilities with a strong focus on gynecology and general surgery. Its portfolio includes both small equipment and consumables.

Saesco Medical operates under exclusive distribution agreements with international manufacturers and is owned by founders, key executives, and a fund managed by Miura Partners. With direct presence in seven European countries and commercial activity across multiple strategic markets, the group serves more than 2,000 clients and manages a portfolio of over 600 products, positioning itself as a leading platform in the European value-added medical technology sector.

Medcomp confirmed that joining Saesco will enhance its growth capacity and improve its ability to serve customers and patients across Italy, further strengthening collaboration with Saesco’s Turin-based platform
