Meridia is strengthening and formalising Juan Barba's role as a non-executive advisor to the firm through his appointment as Senior Advisor and member of the Investment Committee of its new Meridia VI Fund.

Juan previously served as Managing Partner from 2014 to 2021 and has continued to work closely with the firm ever since. This appointment marks a further step in his long-standing commitment to Meridia, bringing in his extensive experience, market expertise, strong deal origination capabilities and established presence in the Madrid market, reinforcing Meridia's sourcing capabilities and leadership in one of Spain's key real estate markets.

With more than three decades' experience in the real estate and financial sectors, Juan Barba is one of the most respected figures in the Spanish real estate industry. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions at both national and international organisations, including Sareb, where he led the transactions division and the disposal of real estate assets, and the pan-European investment firm Doughty Hanson. He has also taught Real Estate at IE Business School for more than twenty years.

Juan Barba's appointment comes at a time of strong momentum for Meridia, which is currently advancing Meridia VI following the successful deployment of Meridia V, now virtually fully invested. The firm remains focused on transformation and value creation opportunities across the residential, logistics and hospitality sectors.

Javier Faus, Chairman & CEO of Meridia, commented: "I am particularly pleased to be collaborating with Juan even further. He is one of the most respected and experienced professionals in the Spanish real estate sector. His support as Senior Advisor reinforces our institutional positioning and our commitment to the Madrid market at a pivotal moment for the firm."

Victor Iborra, Real Estate Partner at Meridia, added: "We are delighted to continue benefiting from Juan's experience and advice. His strategic perspective and deep market knowledge complement the team's capabilities and will help us continue generating new opportunities during an exciting period of growth for Meridia.”

Juan Barba said: "Over the years, Meridia has consistently demonstrated a distinctive ability to identify complex opportunities, deliver high-value transformations and anticipate market trends. It is a leading firm and has proven this year after year for almost two decades. I am delighted to strengthen my relationship with the firm and contribute to this new phase of growth."
