The company Quantix Edge Security has announced the location of its new technology center in the Murcia Norte Business Park , in the El Esparragal area, during an event held at the Audiovisual Hub of the Murcia Artillery Barracks.

The presentation served to officially announce the location chosen for the development of Quantix Edge Security within the Murcia Norte Business Park, a strategic project linked to semiconductors, cybersecurity, cryptography, critical infrastructure protection and advanced digital security technologies .

The president of [the organization] spoke during the presentation ceremony.Quantix Edge SecurityJosé Trigueros; the mayor of Murcia, Rebeca Pérez; and the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, María González Veracruz . The event was also attended by various public officials, including José María García Orois, Business Development Director of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT) , an entity attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration , which holds 49% of the company's share capital through a public investment of 19.6 million euros .

The president ofQuantixJosé Trigueros emphasized the institutional, academic, business, and social support received throughout the entire process. For her part, the Secretary of State, María González Veracruz, celebrated that “this center is destined to be a flagship for the Region in this new technological era. This center aims to generate an ecosystem throughout the Region, the Spanish Levante, and the entire country. In fact, the 20 million euros invested by the Government of Spain inQuantix, continues now with a clear commitment to quantum chip research in the Region, with the awarding of €347,469 to the University of Murcia for semiconductor research and the development of quantum chips, destined to be the semiconductors of the future .”

The choice of Murcia Norte ultimately stems from a confluence of technical, industrial, and strategic criteria that are particularly favorable for a high-tech project. The selected location combines the availability of ready-to-use industrial land, energy capacity, advanced connectivity, and proximity to critical infrastructure for the development of microelectronics, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty technologies.

The location also stands out for its integration into the regional technology ecosystem . Its surroundings include the University of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, and the Catholic University of San Antonio, as well as knowledge centers, technology centers, multinational companies, and innovation support organizations, facilitating access to qualified talent, public-private collaboration, and the generation of industrial synergies.

The project of Quantix envisions an estimated investment of €40 million, of which €19.6 million corresponds to the participation of the Spanish Government through the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT) , which holds 49% of the company's share capital. The remainder is contributed by the Murcia-based companies TProtege and OdinS, the Swiss company WiseKey, and the French company SealSQ.

The initiative will promote an advanced infrastructure in the Region of Murcia focused on developing solutions in the field of semiconductors, with applications in strategic sectors such as defense, critical infrastructure, automotive and IoT , among others.

In terms of employment, the project anticipates the progressive creation of highly skilled jobs , linked to specialized technical profiles, with an increasing impact as its implementation advances. Furthermore, it aligns with the strengthening of European technological autonomy and the national strategy to boost the semiconductor industry.

The project originated from the transfer of knowledge from the university to the company . This was highlighted in statements to the media by the Rector of the University of Murcia (UMU), Samuel Baixauli, who emphasized that “the University of Murcia is proud of its collaboration with the project.”Quantix Edge Securityboth for what it means that it is a spin-off from the UMU and for the technological transfer and knowledge that has been contributed by the researchers who have participated in its preparation and implementation.”
