Opportunity Health has closed a €334,000 funding round to drive the development of Yarnasa, a medical device designed for rapid and automatic intervention in choking emergencies—one of the leading causes of accidental death, where speed of response is critical.
The round includes renewed support from Sodena, with a contribution of €45,000, adding to its previous investment made last year, in line with its commitment to backing innovative projects with strong impact and growth potential from Navarre, particularly in the healthcare sector. The financing is completed with the participation of Easo Ventures, funding from ENISA, and private co-investment channelled through Startupxplore.
The funds will be used to advance the device’s precision engineering, carry out the required biomedical validations, and complete the European regulatory compliance process to obtain CE marking. Yarnasa has been designed to reduce uncertainty and minimise human error in emergency situations, enabling effective intervention when every second counts.
Alongside technological development, Opportunity Health continues to strengthen its organisational structure. The team has grown from one to three people and is expected to expand progressively. In the coming months, a biomedical engineering specialist will join the company to support the validation and certification processes.
This progress follows an international validation process in which the company has gained recognition in specialised forums and participated in leading industry events. With an initial focus on professional environments such as nursing homes and emergency services, the project falls within the field of MedTech solutions for critical situations
