Novares has invested €2.2 million in the modernisation and expansion of its plant in La Pobla de Claramunt (L’Anoia). The French-owned company specialises in the manufacture of plastic components for the automotive sector. Through this investment, Novares has incorporated new technologies for automation, quality control and energy efficiency, with the aim of strengthening the company’s sustainability and competitiveness.
For this project, Novares has received support from ACCIÓ, the business competitiveness agency of the Department of Business and Labour, through €225,000 from the high-impact business projects aid programme.
Novares’ plant in La Pobla de Claramunt, covering close to 30,000 square metres, specialises in injection, painting and assembly processes for plastic components for leading automotive manufacturers. With this investment, the company has integrated a robotised bonding cell for spoiler gluing, pillar assembly stations with artificial vision systems, WIPS carts for internal logistics, and state-of-the-art painting robots adapted to operate in areas with explosion risk (ATEX).
According to Pere Masdeu, plant manager at Novares, “these improvements make it possible to increase precision, reduce defects, optimise internal safety and lower energy and paint consumption.” “We are consolidating Novares’ position as a benchmark technology supplier in the automotive sector by improving final product quality and enhancing sustainability across our processes,” he added.
This investment has enabled Novares to maintain and stabilise its workforce of 305 employees. The company, a Tier 1 supplier in the automotive sector, sells its products directly to manufacturers such as Renault, Stellantis, SEAT and Nissan. The La Pobla de Claramunt plant, operational since 1997, is a key site for the French group in Spain, where it also operates a production facility in Toledo.
