Molins, a construction materials company, has obtained authorisation from the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) to register Molins Venture Capital, its new venture capital firm focused on promoting sustainability-related projects.
With this approval, the Molins Group’s investment vehicle is now authorised to operate in the market. The company was incorporated last December with an initial capital of €1.2 million and will focus on startups linked to CO₂ valorisation, efficiency and productivity improvements, sustainable products, the circular economy and new material applications.
Molins Venture Capital will have a strong environmental focus. According to its prospectus, its purpose is to “enhance innovation knowledge within Molins’ strategic areas in order to accelerate the achievement of the company’s 2030–2050 sustainability objectives.” Its investment strategy предусматривает allocating at least 60% of its resources to venture capital funds or funds of funds, while the remaining 40% will be directed to co-investments with other fund managers or to direct investments in companies.
The firm will be chaired by Carlos Martínez Ferrer, an executive of the Molins Group, and will be managed by GVC Gaesco Alternative Investments.
