Leartiker takes a decisive step toward the future with the launch of LTK29, its new Strategic Plan, which outlines the roadmap for the coming years and reinforces the centre’s commitment to applied research, knowledge transfer, and tangible impact in a rapidly evolving industrial and social environment.

With LTK29, Leartiker aims to grow with purpose, developing high-value scientific and technological solutions while directly contributing to the competitiveness of the business ecosystem and societal wellbeing.

Key Objectives of LTK29

The new strategic plan sets concrete goals that consolidate Leartiker’s position as a leading technology centre:

  • 58 people in a growing, highly specialized, multidisciplinary team.
  • €5.8 million in projected revenue.
  • 50% internal R&D – 50% knowledge transfer, balancing the generation of new knowledge with real impact on the business ecosystem.

Research and transfer efforts will focus on strategic technologies and sectors: biomaterials, biofabrication, and biomedical engineering for the biosanitary sector; sustainable and local food for the food industry; and polymeric materials and advanced processes for key industrial sectors in the Basque Country. This multi-focused strategy aims to generate scientific and technological value, strengthen business competitiveness, and address societal challenges.

A Technology Centre in Transformation

LTK29 drives Leartiker’s evolution toward a model even more connected to industry, entrepreneurship, and applied innovation. Ambitious targets for this period include:

  • Creation of at least 2 new deep-tech startups.
  • Filing of 8 new patent applications, reinforcing protection and valorization of generated knowledge.
  • Generating over €700,000 in IP revenue, strengthening technology transfer.
  • Hiring 28 industry-oriented professionals, enhancing the link between technological development and real company needs.

A Collective Commitment with Cooperative Identity

LTK29 is more than a plan: it represents a collective commitment to purposeful growth, value creation through knowledge, and supporting industry in its present and future challenges — all while maintaining Leartiker’s cooperative essence and long-standing culture.

Looking Ahead

Through LTK29, Leartiker reaffirms its mission: to develop technology that delivers real impact in shaping the future. The centre will continue advancing, strengthening partnerships, and designing technological solutions that generate tangible value for society
