The innovation unit of the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (Ivace+i) has approved and notified the technology centers of the Valencian Community of the funding of 98 research projects “which stand out for addressing new research in strategic areas for the competitive development of companies in the Valencian Community,” stated Marián Cano, Regional Minister of Innovation and President of Ivace+i (01-08-25).

“These are projects,” Cano added, “that will provide innovative solutions for companies in the medium term. Proof of this is that Ivace+i has supported more than 90% of the applications submitted by the research centers.”

The 98 projects funded by Ivace+i address key challenges of the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Valencian Community (S3-CV).

Notable initiatives include those in circular economy and bioeconomy (22%), industrial digitalization projects (14%), and health and medical technology projects (8%).

The head of innovation highlighted “the catalytic role of the technological institutes, which act as bridges between research and industry, promoting the transfer of knowledge and technologies that allow companies to improve their efficiency, quality, and competitiveness.”

The 2025 call for grants to technology centers has been marked by high business participation and strong momentum in cooperation between technology centers.

As a result, this year nearly 400 small and medium-sized enterprises from the Valencian Community are collaborating in these initiatives, “which strengthens the link between the business fabric and innovation centers,” added the Innovation Minister.

The average profile of the approved projects includes a budget of €180,000, a duration of 13 months, and the collaboration of 3.5 companies per initiative.
