CDTI Innovación, promoter and sole shareholder of Innvierte, has committed investments in 5 investment vehicles for a total amount of €433.5 million. Specifically:
Asabys Innvierte Tech Transfer, FCRE is a fund specialized in biotechnology and medical technologies, managed by Asabys Partners (Barcelona). It will invest at very early stages in the creation and development of innovative companies in the field of deep technologies applied to healthcare, based on Spanish scientific excellence, with a particular focus on technology transfer from universities, hospitals, and research centers. The objective of this investment vehicle, the second initiative of the Innvierte Deep Start program for indirect co-investment jointly between CDTI and EIF within the framework of Spain’s National Deep Tech Strategy 2026–2030, is to promote companies that maximize the use of deep-tech technologies such as artificial intelligence, supercomputing, synthetic biology, and new materials, as well as new therapeutic modalities. The commitment of CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, amounts to €63.5 million, out of a total €74.7 million committed through the Deep Start program.
Buenavista Buyout Innvierte III España, FCR is a fund managed by the Madrid-based firm BUENAVISTA BUYOUT, SGEIC, S.A. (Buenavista, Madrid). It focuses on the low/mid-market segment, mainly in key sectors such as healthcare, industry, services, and food, with potential to implement qualitative improvements, particularly related to digitalization, transformation, and technological optimization of portfolio companies. This investment vehicle aims to acquire majority stakes in Spanish companies with high growth potential and international expansion capacity, capable of leading sector consolidation through a buy & build strategy. The commitment of CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, is up to €75 million.
Columbus Innvierte Life Sciences Fund V, FCR is a fund managed by Columbus Venture Partners, focused on investing in life sciences and healthcare companies. It targets European and U.S. technology-based companies in areas such as biotechnology, advanced therapies, medical devices, precision medicine, diagnostics, digital health, and artificial intelligence applied to healthcare. The fund will support both early-stage rounds (Series A and B) and more advanced growth rounds, with minimum investments of €2 million, aiming to promote disruptive projects with transformative potential in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, fostering innovation and value creation in the ecosystem. CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, has committed up to €70 million to this fund.
MCH Iberian Capital Fund VI, FCR is a fund managed by the private equity firm MCH Private Equity Investments SGEIC, S.A. (MCH, Madrid). It invests in companies with a strong innovation component and/or technological base, mainly across three sectors: industrial innovation and technology, food and agribusiness, and health, wellness, and lifestyle. Target companies should have high growth and value creation potential, be at least 3 years old, and have an enterprise value between €50 million and €250 million. MCH promotes growth, transformation, and international expansion of portfolio companies with the aim of generating long-term sustainable value. The commitment of CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, in this fund is up to €125 million.
Portobello Capital Fondo V, FCR is a fund managed by PORTOBELLO CAPITAL GESTIÓN, SGEIC, S.A. (Portobello, Madrid), a leading mid-market private equity firm. Its objective is to support dynamic companies by contributing value and working closely on their growth, expansion, or professionalization. At least 75% of portfolio companies are expected to be based or operating in Spain, including technology-based and innovative companies. The commitment of CDTI Innovation, through Innvierte, is €100 million.

Innvierte
Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. The program is implemented through the closed-end collective investment scheme Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and supervised by the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV), of which CDTI Innovation is the sole shareholder.
To date, CDTI Innovation has committed, through Innvierte, €3,666.5 million across 64 investment vehicles and, through its co-investment line, has directly committed €889.9 million in 197 companies.
Innvierte is part of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This strategy sets out the objectives, reforms, and measures to be adopted across the entire R&D&I ecosystem in order to drive its growth and impact, and forms one of the pillars of the Government’s innovation policy for the coming years.
CDTI Innovation
The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology and Innovation (CDTI E.P.E.) is the innovation agency of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, aimed at promoting technological innovation in the business sector. Its mission is to ensure that the Spanish business ecosystem generates and transforms scientific and technical knowledge into globally competitive, sustainable, and inclusive growth. In 2025, under its 2024–2027 Strategic Plan, CDTI provided €2.423 billion in support to Spanish companies and startups.
