CDTI Innovación, promoter and sole shareholder of Innvierte, closed eight co-investment deals in June — one of them strategic — for a total amount of €4,832,000, specifically:

  • CANDAM TECHNOLOGIES, S.L. (Barcelona) is a Spanish company specialized in IoT technology for digitizing the waste cycle and a pioneer in packaging characterization. It designs and distributes patented hardware and software tools for citizen incentive programs, deposit systems, and pay-as-you-throw schemes. The investment is made alongside KIC INNOENERGY S.E., ENION I ENERGY, F.C.R.E., S.A. and ENION I ENERGY FUND, FCRE (vehicles managed by Suma Capital), and IMPACT VENTURES I. PRIVATE EQUITY FUND. CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €135,000.
  • COCUNAT, S.L. (Barcelona) is a digitally native company that develops cosmetics with medical-aesthetic results by merging proprietary R&D, science, and toxic-free ingredients. The investment is made alongside AFIGEST GLOBAL CORPORATION, S.L. (Álea Group). CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €900,000.
  • KOA Biotech (Barcelona) is an agritech company focused on biotechnology applied to aquaculture. It develops biosensor-based devices for real-time pathogen monitoring in fish farms, enabling early detection of infections. The investment is made alongside SWANLAAB INNVIERTE AGRIFOOD TECH, F.C.R. CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €500,000.
  • NEXT-GEN LEATHER, S.L. (Madrid) is a company that uses applied biotechnology and synthetic biology to develop new biomaterials as alternatives to leather—animal-free and aligned with global challenges such as circular economy and local production. The investment is made alongside BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND, F.C.R. CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €948,000.
  • NICHE MOBILITY, S.L. (Girona) develops technological solutions for light mobility. Its patented technology integrates a motor with a digital gear system for electric bicycles. The investment is made alongside MONDRAGÓN FONDO DE PROMOCIÓN II FCR. CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €504,000.
  • UPTECH SENSING, S.L. (Navarra) develops systems and equipment to monitor temperature changes and structural deformation in civil engineering infrastructure and special components (e.g. electric transport, wind product monitoring) using distributed fiber optic networks. The investment is made alongside Navarra Tech Transfer FCR. CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €90,000.
  • 2EyesVision (Madrid), a tech-based spin-off from the CSIC, enables patients to experience in advance how they will see through different intraocular lenses before undergoing cataract or presbyopia surgery. The investment is made alongside ACE 53, S.L.U. CDTI Innovación’s contribution: €315,000.

In addition, as part of its strategic company line, CDTI Innovación has committed €1,440,000 to PAYLOAD AEROSPACE, S.L. (Alicante), which develops launch technologies for small satellites.

Since January 2025, CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has closed co-investment deals in 39 companies, committing €67.82 million, and has completed investments in five investment vehicles with a commitment of €577.5 million.


Investment Vehicles

In June, CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, also committed to an investment vehicle with a total investment of €294 million, specifically:

  • NAZCA AEROESPACIAL & DEFENSA I, F.C.R., managed by NAZCA CAPITAL, SGEIC, S.A. (Madrid), will invest in the defense, security, and aerospace sectors, with a particular focus on companies developing dual-use (civil and defense) technologies. CDTI Innovación’s commitment: €294 million.

Innvierte

Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. The program is implemented through the closed-end collective investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and supervised by the CNMV (Spanish Securities Market Commission), of which CDTI Innovación is the sole shareholder.

To date, CDTI Innovación has committed €2.661 billion across 61 investment vehicles, which have invested in more than 609 companies. Through its co-investment line, it has directly committed €718 million in 190 companies.

Innvierte is part of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This strategy defines the objectives, reforms, and measures needed across the R&D&I ecosystem to promote growth and impact and serves as a foundational pillar for government science and innovation policy over the coming years.
