Since January 2025, CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has completed co-investment operations in 67 companies with a commitment of €204.8 million and has committed investments in 11 investment vehicles with a total commitment of €1,009.3 million.

CDTI Innovación, promoter and sole shareholder of Innvierte, closed 6 co-investment operations in December, 2 of them strategic, amounting to €29,147,000, specifically:

  • ALCYON PHOTONICS, S.L. (Madrid) is a company specialized in designing photonic integrated circuits, which are the basis for innovative technologies in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, communications, aerospace, and telemedicine. The investment is made through BeAble Innvierte Kets Fund FCR, with CDTI Innovación contributing €237,000.
  • ATLAS MOLECULAR PHARMA, S.L. (Vizcaya) is a biotechnology company developing drugs for rare and ultra-rare metabolic diseases with unmet medical needs, such as congenital erythropoietic porphyria (CEP). The investment is made through Inveready Biotech IV, SCR, SA and Inveready Biotech IV Parallel, SCR, SA, with CDTI Innovación contributing €900,000.
  • ORIKINE BIO, S.L. (Barcelona) is a biotechnology company that has developed the Foldikine™ platform, pioneering technology in optimized protein engineering to create bispecific cytokine therapies precisely designed to overcome toxicity and pleiotropy limitations, enabling a new generation of safe and precise immunotherapies for autoimmune, inflammatory, and oncological diseases. The investment is made through Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments II, FCR; Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments 2B, SCR SA and AFB Seed Fund II, with CDTI Innovación contributing €2,700,000.
  • INTELLIGENCE PADEL S.L. (PADMI) (Madrid) develops an AI-based platform that analyzes padel matches in real time to generate advanced statistics and highlight videos, enhancing the experience for players and clubs. The investment is made through Swanlaab Tech Fund II, with CDTI Innovación contributing €810,000.

Additionally, in the strategic companies line, CDTI Innovación has committed €2.7 million to PAYLOAD AEROSPACE, S.L. (Alicante), which develops small satellite launch technologies, and €21.8 million to XOOPLE, S.L. (Madrid), an Earth Intelligence company developing the next generation of AI-ready Earth data.

Investment Vehicles

In December, CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, committed investments in two investment vehicles totaling €325.5 million, specifically:

  • Kembara Fund I, FCR, a €1 billion fund managed by Alma Mundi Ventures, SGEIC (Madrid), investing in SMEs or mid-caps in the deep tech and climate tech sectors at the growth stage, mainly Series B and Series C, with a focus on scaleups. Key areas include artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, space technology, as well as energy efficiency, green mobility, circular economy, new materials, and sustainable agriculture. CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has committed €300 million.
  • Montana Children’s Health Fund Innvierte, FESE, managed by venture capital firm Ship2B Ventures, SGEIC, S.A. (Barcelona), is the first European fund specialized in translating deep-tech research in child health into clinical and commercial solutions with real patient impact. It invests in innovative solutions addressing critical social challenges from early life, such as mental health, rare diseases, and nutrition. The fund plans to invest in early-stage European startups with a strong scientific and technological component and expects to make around fifteen investments over the coming years. CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has committed €25.5 million. This operation is the first of the Deep-Tech Tech Transfer initiative, a venture capital vehicle promoted by CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, and the EIB to support Spain’s deep-tech and technology transfer ecosystem.

Innvierte

Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation by supporting venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. The program is implemented through the closed-end collective investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and supervised by the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), with CDTI Innovación as its sole shareholder.

To date, CDTI Innovación has committed, through Innvierte, €2,885.8 million in 54 investment vehicles, and through its co-investment line, has directly committed €833.6 million in 197 companies.

Innvierte is part of the Spanish Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy 2021-2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. This strategy outlines objectives, reforms, and measures across the R&D&I sector to drive growth and impact and serves as a pillar for the Spanish Government’s R&D&I policy for the coming years.
