CDTI Innovación, the promoter and sole shareholder of the company Innvierte, closed 7 co-investment operations in January, totaling €8,107,000, specifically:
- BIDASOA METAL 78, S.L. (Gipuzkoa) develops hydrometallurgical technology for recovering platinum group metals (PGMs) from automotive catalysts, reducing CO₂ emissions by 65%. The investment is made together with GEROA PENTSIOAK EPSV DE EMPLEO PREFERENTE, AMPO, S.COOP., and UN I+d+i TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER FCR, with CDTI Innovación contributing €2,092,000.
- CRAMIK ADDITIVE SOLUTIONS, S.L. (Valencia) is a company with advanced materials technology, specializing in the world’s first universal binder capable of enabling applications in ceramic filament 3D printing and industrial ceramic injection. Its advanced properties allow use in sectors such as aerospace, metallurgy, and energy. The investment is made together with BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND FCR, with CDTI Innovación contributing €270,000.
- COCUUS SYSTEM IBERICA, S.L. (Navarra) is a pioneering tech and industrial company in the food industry, developing advanced industrial solutions that accelerate innovation delivery to customers and facilitate next-generation food production. Its patented FOOD TO DATA – DATA TO FOOD technology analyzes food morphology to create mathematical models for 3D food printing at an industrial scale. The investment is made through TECH TRANSFER AGRIFOOD, FCR, with CDTI Innovación contributing €503,000 of a total €556,000.
- CONNECTA THERAPEUTICS, S.L. (Barcelona) focuses on discovering and developing innovative treatments for unmet medical needs in the central nervous system (CNS). Its portfolio includes neuroplasticity modulators, notably CTH120, a first-in-class molecule in Phase II with potential as a transformative treatment for Fragile X syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disorders. The investment is made with INVEREADY BIOTECH IV SCR, S.A. and INVEREADY BIOTECH IV PARALLEL, SCR, S.A., with CDTI Innovación contributing €1,575,000.
- GREENE ENTERPRISE, S.L. (Alicante) operates waste-to-energy gasification plants, developing technology that profitably valorizes any carbon-containing organic waste. The investment is made with MOIRA CAPITAL DESARROLLO KAPPA TER, FCRE, S.A., with CDTI Innovación contributing €2,767,000.
- MOLECULAR GATE, S.L. (Barcelona) developed Polargram™, an authentication technology for packaging and security documents. Polargram™ uses nano-structured patterns printed with patented semiconductor molecular inks to create unique optical effects, impossible to replicate with conventional methods. Each label can be serialized or optically encoded, combining visible physical security and hidden digital traceability in a scalable process. The investment is made with BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND FCR, with CDTI Innovación contributing €450,000.
- NARU INTELLIGENCE SOLUTIONS, S.L. (Gipuzkoa) specializes in artificial intelligence (AI) systems for biomedicine that improve patient outcomes. It develops machine learning (ML) technology for healthcare to enhance service results and accelerate clinical and pharmaceutical research. The investment is made with ORZA GESTIÓN Y TENENCIA DE PATRIMONIOS, AIE, with CDTI Innovación contributing €450,000 (accounted for in 2025).
Investment Vehicles
Additionally, in January, CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, committed €73.5 million to an investment vehicle:
- ABAC HORIZON FUND INNVIERTE, FCRE is a fund managed by ABAC CAPITAL MANAGER SGEIC, S.A. (Barcelona), focused on environmental companies whose impact is directly linked to their core business. The fund invests in the Lower Mid Market segment (EBITDA €2–5 million) with a strategy of taking majority stakes in companies with differentiated value propositions, technological leadership, growth potential, operational efficiency opportunities, and international expansion capacity. CDTI Innovación, via Innvierte, committed €73.5 million (€50 million accounted for in 2025), alongside commitments from other international and national investors, including the European Investment Fund.
Innvierte
Innvierte is an initiative aimed at promoting business innovation through venture capital investment in technology-based or innovative companies. It operates via the closed-end collective investment company Innvierte Economía Sostenible SICC S.M.E., S.A., self-managed and supervised by the National Securities Market Commission, with CDTI Innovación as its sole shareholder.
To date, CDTI Innovación has committed €3,183.8 million through Innvierte in 57 investment vehicles, and €864.3 million directly in 197 companies via its co-investment line.
Innvierte is part of the Spanish Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy 2021–2027, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2020. The strategy sets out objectives, reforms, and measures across R&D&I to drive growth and impact, forming a key pillar of the government’s R&D&I policy for the coming years.
